A man who was caught with a known prostitute in his car told police she was only there to show him where to buy tomatoes and the cash he gave her was to pay for them.
Muhammad Ikhlaq, 39, was arrested by police on suspicion of soliciting while driving through Walsall in his Nissan Micra.
However, when he was pulled over after stopping at a cash machine to withdraw £20, which he had given to the woman in the passengers seat, he claimed he was simply driving around looking for fruit.
PC Stacey Paterson, from Walsall police, said: Ive heard some excuses before but in the ten years that I have been a police officer I have never heard a kerb crawler covering up his crimes by claiming to be buying tomatoes.
Ikhlaq, of New Street, Dudley, was found guilty of soliciting on Wednesbury Road, Walsall.
He was fined £400 and ordered to pay £665 in costs by Walsall Magistrates Court.
Well, some act, but again I presume known prodtitutes engage in more legal transactions than not.
You saw those cave painting in France?
Yes, we have non tomatoes today.
In a robbery they arrest on suspicion, but you are charged with robbery.
What criminal act was this man shown to have committed? If I hand you $30, am I de facto buying into your previous criminal enterprises?
Sounds like simple guilt by association.
Maybe she was going to make some pasta puttanesca?
“What kind of girl does one get for £20?”
The more important question is, what do you get from the girl?
Walsall in Suffolk County ??

This having happened in Britain and all, I can’t help but hear an echo of “He’s just pining for the fjords” in the phrase “She was just showing me where to buy some tomatoes”.
Whoops I saw Wednesbury Road mentioned
That will be Wednesbury where my family lived..

Should have told the cop he was trying to unload a couple of nuts instead of picking up a tomato.
£20 converts to $30.77USD. Can’t be very good for that price.
Should have gone with the tomatoes instead.
One that weighs 300 lbs.
I still don’t understand why government thinks it has the right to interfere with short-term cash contracts between consenting adults.
Interstate commerce.
