Loved the TV series ‘ Crime Story ‘
Born Feb. 29, 1944, in Chicago, he was a city police officer before turning to acting in his late 30s.
Farina appeared in films including “Get Shorty,” ‘’Saving Private Ryan” and “Midnight Run.”
Among his many TV portrayals was Det. Joe Fontana on “Law & Order.” He starred in the 1980s cult favorite, “Crime Story” and most recently was in the HBO drama series “Luck.”
I met him twice...a man’s man who loved to laugh...RIP
He's great in Crime Story. A legend? Not in my book. FWIW.
Me too. It would have stayed on for years had they not put it up against Moonlighting.
What a stupid move.
Great actor. Law and Order was just not the same after he left. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.
Lt. Michael Torello vs. Ray Luca... Now THAT was good stuff.
Wow, sad news.
Some of the greatest TV ever!
Dennis was a great actor and a good guy. I had the pleasure of working with him on a movie, and we became good friends. May God rest his soul.
MIDNIGHT RUN- Excellent!
It's crazy.
That’s sad, my dad used to be on the force with him.
I was watching ‘Get Shorty’ last night.
I loved the TV series Crime Story and the music.
