Prince William is hardly a "milquetoast".

He's a helicopter pilot in the British Search and Rescue Force and has participated in active rescue missions. He is a Flight Lieutenant in the RAF.

He plays polo for charitable causes, is a runner (miler) also for charity, he's an avid football fan and an enthusiastic motorcyclist owning a Ducati 1198.

He may look a little milquetoasty, but he's a man's man, participating in the service of his country in many, many ways....forgoing many royal perks in favor of his military career.
