I answered a beep indicating a text message had come in on my cell phone today. To my great surprise and disgust, a picture of the 12 y.o. Trayvon popped up, with the following text underneath (spelling is just the way it was on the cell phone text message):
"In the wake of the senseless killing of Trayvon Martin...'The company known as Koch', which manufactures paper products is sponsoring and paying for Zimmerman's legal fees because they feel he had legal right to bare arms and shoot Trayvon we are asking that people everywhere ban together and pass this information on and not purchase any of the following items because your money will be paying for Zimmerman's lawyers and legal fees. Please do not purchase any of the following items: Angel soft toilet paper, Brawny paper towels, Dixie plates, bowls, napkins and cups, Mardi gras napkins and paper towels, Quilted northern toilet paper, Soft and gentle toil paper, Sparkle napkins and paper towels, Vanity Fair napkins and paper towels. Please forward this Very Important information to All your Family and Friends. Please Let's Help Get "Justice for Trayvon Martin" Thank you!!!
I was beyond angry and utterly disgusted. The sender is a very nice black woman, fellow teacher, and I could not wrap my mind around her falling in with these Trayvon crappeople. I texted her back that Zimmerman didn't flee the country, he submitted himself to the justice system of this country and there was insufficient evidence for the jurors to him guilty of anything. And that we can't complain if a verdict is not what WE think it should be. She then called me to discuss my text reply to her message. She mentioned the 911 tape as proof. I told her straight up that the 911 call tape had been altered by the media to make Zimmerman look more guilty. No, she didn't know that. She didn't take into account the inflammatory picture of dear Trayvon as a 12 y.o. vs. the age he was at death. She didn't seem aware of the 3 suspensions at school, the burglary tools found in his locker at school, or any of the other evidence which may have been suppressed. Yet she feels confident enough to pass along this outrageous crap on my phone. However, the conversation remained amicable and she even rang off with an "I love you", as did I.
This is really scary, if nice people like this lady are so easily recruited to carry the water for the agitators.
The Zimmermans have a website...it’s their first names dot org (ie George’s dad’s name, which I forget, and Gladys, I believe dot com). Some info there. Also, George helped a “homeless” man, and there was an article written about it. Sorry to be so vague, but I’ve read both the website and the article in the past few days thru FR. I would think if you could get a copy of that article, it would be something to show your fellow teacher.

I too know some real smart teachers. I converted one. But I have also advised that they take their head out of book now and then and look around.
I have asked that very question. The response is that THEY use their wealth to donate to "good" causes (i.e., "progressive" causes) and help elect politicians who are "for the people." Why, most of their rich lefty heroes think they should have to pay MORE taxes (although they do not do so voluntarily and hire accountants to find every deduction)!
So, it's okay to be obscenely wealthy as long as you support leftist causes and make politically correct speeches. It's the same with Hollywood stars, popular musicians, and professional athletes. You can be as wealthy as you want as long as you claim to be "down with the struggle" and throw a little lucre toward their pet causes occasionally.

I had to hear more Po’ Tray in the last couple of days including from a friend who had dinner with a cop and the cop said Zimm didn’t have the right to kill Tray and sholdn’t have been carrying a gun.
I told my friend the cop is an imbecile, incompetent and presumptuous.
The local cops who originally investigated the case and had direct access to all the evidence didn’t think Zimm had committed a crime and neither did the FBI.
So is his singular and under informed opinion more qualified than that of two LEO agencies or even mine? I did, after all, waste a week of my life watching the prosecutions ridiculously weak case, that felt more like they were presenting a reasonable doubt defense and the closing couldn’t have been more craptastic if they tried.
Well maybe, if they had just come out right and said “Zimm’s innocent but, we have to put on a show. Everyone go home. Move along. Nothing to see”

It would be interesting if she followed up with a blast text to the same people rescinding her remarks, acknowledging she didn’t have all the facts before sending, that she did it based on emotion of the moment, and apologizing for taking up their time and possible text message allotment. I just wouldn’t hold my breath waiting.
