A hero to some, villain to others, Edward Snowden has been nominated for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize by a Swedish university professor who also took a less-than-subtle swipe at Barack Obama, as reported by Russia Today (RT) on July 16, 2013.
Professor Stefan Svallfors of Sweden's Umeå University has formally nominated one of America's most wanted men, former-NSA employee Edward Snowden for the Nobel Peace Prize on the grounds of his heroic effort at great personal cost.

Again, any perfessor (I’m not sure if junior colleges qualify, but all universities do) can nominate anybody including the Filipino janitor woman (or man?) he’s bonking.
Well, if ‘O” got one, everyone else on the list has to get 3 of them!
Hi Kevin.
It looks like you just signed up three days ago to pimp your Examiner blog.

Have you any thoughts on that?
If you are a source on this, why don’t you just post it on FR? Thank you.
More evidence that Snowden is a false flag perpetrated for the purpose of a major intelligence data transfer to Communist nations. Mission accomplished for Putin.. “Flexibility” of 0bama.
Over 260 people have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for this year. Given how many world leaders he’s ticked off, I’d bet that over half could be considered a slap at Obama.
Is this nomination based on actual accomplishments, or like Obama, simply based on so-called “potential”?
W + W = R, solve for R.
You can't do it? That's because you forgot that W stands for Wrong. Or maybe I didn't mention it.
Try again.
Wrong + Wrong = R
Give up?
R = Right
Wrong Plus Wrong = Right
Simple, at least according the Nobel Prize folks.
Here’s what Snowden had to say the other day:
Snowden’s reply to Sen. Humphrey:
Mr. Humphrey,
Thank you for your words of support. I only wish more of our lawmakers shared your principles - the actions I’ve taken would not have been necessary.
The media has distorted my actions and intentions to distract from the substance of Constitutional violations and instead focus on personalities. It seems they believe every modern narrative requires a bad guy. Perhaps it does. Perhaps, in such times, loving one’s country means being hated by its government.
If history proves that be so, I will not shy from that hatred. I will not hesitate to wear those charges of villainy for the rest of my life as a civic duty, allowing those governing few who dared not do so themselves to use me as an excuse to right these wrongs.
My intention, which I outlined when this began, is to inform the public as to that which is done in their name and that which is done against them. I remain committed to that. Though reporters and officials may never believe it, I have not provided any information that would harm our people - agent or not - and I have no intention to do so.
Further, no intelligence service - not even our own - has the capacity to compromise the secrets I continue to protect. While it has not been reported in the media, one of my specializations was to teach our people at DIA how to keep such information from being compromised even in the highest threat counter-intelligence environments (i.e. China).
You may rest easy knowing I cannot be coerced into revealing that information, even under torture.
With my thanks for your service to the nation we both love,
Edward Snowden

The only thing more stupid, reactionary and political than nominating Obama for a Nobel is nominating Snowden.
Obama got his as a slap in the face to Bush so why not? I hope he gets it.
It’s funny the look you’ll get when you ask any sheeperal what accomplishment earned Obama the Nobel Peace Prize.
They won’t admit he didn’t deserve it, but are at a loss as to what he did to earn it.
(aside - he never earned anything in his life)
He thinks
W O R K
is for fools and mules!
EARN is a four letter word to him.
It’s the Muslim cultural influence in him.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
isn’t The Examiner kinda like a, well, blog?
All they know how to do is murder one another and spew hate speech. That has not changed for centuries.
He doesn’t deserve a prize. Neither did 0.
