Today, the 61-year-old man says he has come to terms with the name "Michael Boatwright," but only because doctors told him he should.

He'd served from 1971 to 1973 in the Navy as an aviation mechanic.

The background info on this guy is very interesting, but it doesn’t say when he learned Swedish.
Could he speak Swedish before this happened?
Well, if he ran a consulting firm in Sweden in the Eighties, I’d say he had learned Swedish by that time...

this dude is clearly the Swedish guy and the actual Michael Boatwright set him up to be him so the actual Michael Boatwright could vanish. Why would you believe some social worker over your own memory?
One of the techniques and hazards of speed reading is that you scan keywords and sometimes miss big chunks of info. My bad.
