Hard to say. I had a couple of boxes I had bought for treats for the rig crews, and Twinkies were going for close to 80 bucks a box on ebay when I gave them to the guys.
By morning, that had dropped to about $20.

Much of the price paid was for the tradename “Hostess”.

"Ghastly union work-rules is what drove Hostess bankrupt."Don't kid yourself.
I grew up on hostess. Loved them. Would easily have paid a premium for them.
Somehow they lost quality control over their bakers. I seriously doubt this was related to union work-rules. They started putting out stale cakes that tasted terrible. And other cakes were simply better. Not as good as Hostess used to be, but better than Hostess is now.

“...no cook apple pie with Twinkies and apple pie filling.”
Mmmmmmmm, that sounds interesting. Do you have a ‘recipe’ for that one? Crust? A cold pie in ‘fridge? Google only turns-up hot bake/crust/topping Twinkie pies. Sounds worth trying.

Not this weekend. Krispy Kreme is celebrating their anniversary on Saturday with the second dozen of regular glazed for 76 cents.
(I’m with you on the orange cupcakes, though.)

How about Cupcakes, Ding Dongs and fruit pies? All better(and more fattening!) than the Twinkie.

The WM locations near the big trial can hand them out to the looters as they leave with their TVs..

For kicks, we purchased a few boxes and I offered them up to my neighborhood kids at the bus stop and one mother wanted to buy a box and try to sell it. I explained that the brand will be back..
