Name the BEST and the WORST (in your opinion) of the Rush Limbaugh guest hosts when he is absent from the EIB airwaves. Here is my humble opinion:
The BEST guest host is Mark Steyn who substituted for El Rushbo yesterday. Usually I miss listening to Rush but Steyn is so good that he actually makes for an enjoyable break. His wit and polished accent makes for good listening.
The WORST guest host had to be Bill Cunningham. Thankfully, I think I only heard him once and that was one time too many. Cunningham's delivery throughout the show was like one long LOUD screech. Painful on the ears and it actually started to give me a headache.
I also remember another guest host whose name is thankfully forgotten who spent a big chunk of the show ignoring current events in favor of playing silly number (or word) games on the air but Cunningham stands out in memory as truly annoying.

Okay, now you weigh in with your choice of BEST and WORST guest host on Rush Limbaugh. BTW, please correct me if I am wrong but didn't Chris Matthews actually once serve as a guest host? I didn't hear that show but I thought I read that somewhere.

Mark Steyn is the best. I actually like him better than Rush.
Mark Davis is the worst.

Matthews was the worst.
I’m assuming Limbaugh let him on because he lost a bet, or made the offer after having consumed too many adult beverages.

I don’t know about Rush, but Arianna Huffington once substituted for Laura Ingraham.

Make that three, with Williams and Steyn in that order.

Oh, as far as best go... he had a guest host some years ago that went on to his own talk show. When he got his own show, Rush immediately stopped using him as guest host.
Was it Mark Levin? I'm not sure.
Anyway, that person was the best. Sorry I can't remember who it was.

I’ve been listening for 2 decades +. When, WHEN was Chris Matthews ever a sub? How did I miss that? Hoax?
To: PJ-Comix
Mark Davis and Mark Simone are the worst. Steyn’s good, but I get tired of his laughing/guffawing at his own jokes, all the time. Chris Plante (WMAL) would be a better choice, IMO.

In current times, no one matches Steyn. Walter Williams is good, but only on occasion. He also probably is a little past his prime, unfortunately. Of all time, Tony Snow was my favorite. He was a tremendous person and great host.

Mark Steyn, Walter Williams, and from the distant past Tony Snow.
The worst? No idea, I usually turn it off when it isn’t one of the above.
To: PJ-Comix
No contest. Best is Dr. Walter E. Williams, Jr. Steyn is a second banana in the bunch. The others are also-rans.
