Make no mistake, I don’t like the thought of it. Life is a gift from God, but so are our liberties, and if they are not fought for, they will be taken.

Quartering refers to soldiers being furnished with housing.

Unless they decide to stay there at least overnight, I don’t see how you can call it housing them.

As I said, if the story is entirely true, which as always with legal complaints is a big IF, then they probably had one or more of the rights violated. Just not 3A.

Legal terms mean what they mean, not what you think they ought to mean.

The saddest part of this story is that they were able to assemble so many officers willing to do something that screwed up, without somebody saying stop and think about this.......The saddest part of this story is that they were able to HIRE so many officers willing to do something that screwed up, without somebody saying stop and think about this. Police Academy 101. We are not in Baghdad. The training officer (if Henderson has one) should be incarcerated also.

I thought that one of the Amendments of the Bill of Rights specifically forbade such an act except,IIRC,in time of war. Can't recall which Amendment it was.

I think I will install covert surveillance in my house that is noise-activated and that writes to the internet.

Then if the police break in I get a payday and a million likes on YouTube.

It is beyond my use of words to describe my hate for that sort of police tyranny.

But come voting time people will go to the polls and vote in people who want to spend even more money for a bigger police force, fancier schools and every thing else that has brought us to this shameful state of affairs to begin with.

Peace and safety folks.

There are certain circumstances in which this behavior might have been somewhat justified.

I understand but i would not want the cops in my home for any purpose unless for a cup of coffee or something because there are many case,s that would end much better with out them.

For instance some of the drug busts i have heard about make the cops look like the bad guys, because of the way they do it they are the bad guys.

Still it makes you wonder what the author saw so many decades ago that made him write such a story.

Ha, you are either pretty young or just too dammed busy trying to make a living if you have not noticed it before.

It has been building up to this for a long time.

Henderson and Las Vegas are in Clark County.

IOW, yes, it is the same shameless police force.

I’m in my late fifty’s and I was commenting about my thoughts at the time I read it. And I still wonder what he saw at the time that made him want to write a story about such a future. If I remember it was about ten years after the race riots so that made it probably during Carter’s term as president. Unemployment was high and the economy sucked but I don’t recall Police over-reach then as I see happening now.

You are not much of a LEO if you are willing to take a complaint filed by an attorney, who may or may not be an ambulance chaser, against LEOs as fact without knowing all the facts involved in the case.If you had ever investigated a DV, you would know there are ALWAYS two sides to every story, and sometimes three.

In reading the complaint I was reminded of the cases brought by Sharpton and Jackson. I prefer to wait until everything is out in the open before I form an opinion of what really happened.

The sad thing is dirtbags like this cause the citizenry to not trust police in general. Cops are outnumbered and outgunned, and need citizen at their backs, not at their throats.

Yep. I am pretty disgusted with all the BS going on in America. In September, I retire. Then, I am voting with my feet, and leaving for that south sea island beach.

Okay, then how about THEFT for raiding the refrigerator in the unlawfully confiscatedd HOME, combined with the unlawful confinement of said home’s residents?

Hey, if they did what is claimed they apparently broke a number of laws and violated a number of constitutional rights.

If so, they should be punished for doing so just like any other citizen.

There are certain circumstances in which this behavior might have been somewhat justified.

Such as cops involved in an actual firefight. At that point the necessity to protect human life takes precedence, quite rightly, over the formalities of warrants and such.

WRONG! Are you a useful idiot or a quisling?

So you think cops being shot at in the open cannot take cover in a home without first getting a warrant?

If so, I think you’re the idiot.

This is not and should not be required, anymore than a cop must first obtain a warrant before entering a home where a murder is known to be in progress. As in he can see a man strangling a women through a window.

American cops ought to put big ‘SS’s on their collars so everyone who has the misfortune of interacting with them knows exactly what they’re dealing with. The friendly neighborhood cop is no more.
