Beautiful dog. Hopefully the owner will receive justice for the wrongs committed against her and her dog.

The leashed dog must have gazed at the deputy with a disrespectful look. Frightened of a tethered dog—you can’t make this stuff up.

JMHO, if you have to tie your dog outside unsupervised, you shouldn’t have a dog.

Gee, I guess that justifies those as swipes actions, huh?

Agreed, it’s preferable only to having a loose dog roaming about on other people’s property.

It makes mistreatment of such dogs even crueler—they have no ability to get away should one of the government employees experience Sudden Doghadi Syndrome upon viewing one of our canine companions.

Guess the little wuss being afraid of a tied dog makes it ok?

"Gee, I guess that justifies those as swipes actions, huh?"

Nope. One reason I recommend against tying a dog up unsupervised is precisely because you put them at the mercy of morons who feel free to do entirely unjustified things to them.

Oh boy, I must have touched a nerve with people who tie their dogs up unsupervised....

First, I don't have a "law". I prefaced my remark with "JMHO." If you need a grown up to explain to you what that means just let me know. I'm wholly against dogs being tased or otherwise abused. That's exactly why I don't understand why somebody would tie them up and leave them in their yard at the mercy of the weather and any moron who walks by.

“As soon as he saw them, he cowered to the side, wimpered, and started to visibly shake. The deputy took a step towards him and Merlin started to growl.

Very lucky the deputy didn't shoot the dog right then, if for no other reason than to end the case right there.

I hate these cruel people and I am ashamed of our justice system. No one should get away with doing that kind of harm, let alone someone wearing a gun and a badge. I’m surprised this happened in North Carolina. What happened to us?

You answered a statement that was not mine, but the answer is the same.

I agree. Tying a dog puts them at the mercy of.....blah, blah, blah.....

But this was a police officer. A big pu$$y to boot. Which has nothing to do with the owner tying the dog.

The deputy was frightened because that dog is a black assault canine. Hopefully, the dog was registered. God forbid if it was pregnant, then the owner might be charged with having not only a scary black assault dog but one with a high capacity uterus.

Bastards.

It’s not “us” it is today’s law enforcement.

They are hiring thugs.

Look at the big picture. Hiring thugs...Hmmm.. Why is that?

These so called men are not interested in rule of law..just “rule”.

I see many more traffic tickets and other assorted run-ins with the sheriff’s dept. for the Browns in the future.
