“Sopranos” star James Gandolfini, who struggled with booze addiction in his final weeks, scarfed down a decadent final meal that included at least eight alcoholic drinks, The Post has learned.

Gandolfini guzzled four shots of rum, two pina coladas, and two beers at dinner with his son — while he chowed down on two orders of fried king prawns and a “large portion” of foie gras, a hotel source in Rome said.

The Emmy Award winner had attended several Alcoholics Anonymous meetings on Perry Street in the West Village, but people who saw him there “didn’t think that he was serious about getting sober,” said a source familiar with the matter.

So what! My old man had a shot and a beer with his coffee in the morning. He also peeled an onion and ate it like an apple and would dump a whole can of sardines on top of his spaghetti. Pops had a cast iron stomach!

Glad he didn’t drink a super sized soft drink. That could have been fatal. What? Oh never mind.

I just put half of my food back into the refrigerator. Good thing I was eating slow.

However we don’t know what his meal’s salt content was.

Oh so what the guy had some drinks and food I would also party if I was rich and hanging out in Italy. He probably had undetected Heart Disease and never saw a Dr. so now the press has to bad mouth him. At least he had no part in the destruction of the USA.

sardines and onions are good for you.

2 orders of fried shrimp depending on the order side is a bit much....to much fried.

we would put aleege(sp?)(anchovies) on pizza and antipast....

on Christmas eve my mother had to fry up a Capitone (Eel) for my Grandpa...she hated to as the pieces would move around in the pan.

Not to mention, Roman Piña Coladas? That's like going to Jamaica and ordering Lacryma Christi!

A co-worker of mine eats the core, seeds, that woody piece on the bottom of the apple. Crazy.

Vince Flynn dies and gets less attention than this guy? Sopranos? Who cares (not about him dying, but about the pop culture crap we rail against)...sorry, had to vent. Flame on.

Poor guy would still be alive today if NYC had banned large soft drinks a year ago.

Off, OFF damned sarcasm!

Dad had a friend that drank at least a case a day every day for his adult life. He went to the hospital for something minor and died under anesthesia. His heart failed.

It's a shame this happened while his son was present however, I believe when it's your time, it's your time. He went out with a meal of his choice, accompanied by the beverages he wanted, while vacationing in a beautiful Country with his loved one. Plus, he went quick. Not too shabby.

As far as Gandolfini’s meal, that sounds about average for a man his size. I could sit and put down 6 to 8 20 oz. beers, an appetizer, a large entree, and dessert when I was over 350.

I hear you. When I was stationed in Germany, Friday nights were spent with friends at our favorite gasthaus: Jagerschnitzel, pommes frites, a salad, and a gallon of Konigsbacher Pils over the course of 2-3 hours, and (sometimes) several shots of Jagermeister.

At the time, my weight was around 200. It's a bit less than that today, as I've changed my eating habits out of necessity.
