Sopranos star James Gandolfini, who struggled with booze addiction in his final weeks, scarfed down a decadent final meal that included at least eight alcoholic drinks, The Post has learned.
Gandolfini guzzled four shots of rum, two pina coladas, and two beers at dinner with his son while he chowed down on two orders of fried king prawns and a large portion of foie gras, a hotel source in Rome said.
The Emmy Award winner had attended several Alcoholics Anonymous meetings on Perry Street in the West Village, but people who saw him there didnt think that he was serious about getting sober, said a source familiar with the matter.

It’s sad that his 13 year old son was the witness to his father’s self destruction.

After seeing him as Tony Soprono, I cannot picture him with two umbrella drinks.

Rose (www.warroom.com) Tenant said on the Quinn and Rose show yesterday, that she had met him some time in the past (recent?) and that she was concerned for his health because he had such a hard time breathing.

Breakfast wasn’t breakfast unless you were having a Bloody Mary or a Screwdriver. Lunch had the required 6 beer minimum, and dinner was usually a mix of wine, scotch, and whatever beer was left in the fridge.
Reload the next day, and repeat.
As far as Gandolfini’s meal, that sounds about average for a man his size. I could sit and put down 6 to 8 20 oz. beers, an appetizer, a large entree, and dessert when I was over 350.

OMG!! No WINE???? not all Italians are fans of wine. though lots are.
at Sunday and Holiday meals at my Calabrese Nannas house, my Uncles would all drink beer and the lone bottle of Chianti or Muscatel, would be used for a toast, then ignored...my Napoliano Grandfather on my mother's side, drank very little if at all, wine or beer. His sons would drink beer if they drank.
though I knew lots of neighborhood Americans of Italian extraction who made wine and drank it liberally.
we would have called a guy like Gandolfini who consumed food and drink like a pig....a 'GAVONE!' (spelled Caffone)

I’m betting it was was the double order of fried fish topped off by the foie gras. Double fat accompanied by a side order of fat.

The Emmy Award winner had attended several Alcoholics Anonymous meetings I hope that the write of the article understands that they have likely contributed to the death of alcoholics. Alcoholics are experts on rationalizing why they are not drunks and here's one more reason not to seek help.

He didn’t look well, in the pictures shown recently on the Daily Mail site. The articles also mentioned a history of alcohol and drug use.
It’s very sad for his family.
