We had a computer serviceman here this morning and while he made the repairs I requested, now my computer doesn't look anything like it did and it is SO distracting, I can't stay focused on my work. On many websites, the text is blue, and on a spreadsheet the appearance is SO plain and I don't seem to be able to add color to the columns. The taskbar at the bottom is all different as well as the menu bar at the top. Should I try a 'restore'?
Kinda sounds like the number of colors in the display has been changed in the graphics driver. Like maybe reduced from 16 million to 256 colors? What kind of computer? Windows?
Don’t worry, the NSA will fix it tonight while you sleep.
Call the repair guy and say come back and fix this problem you caused.
Call the service company, have them send a different technician and have them put it back the way it was.
However if he made a change to restore function, then no.
right click an empty spot on the desktop and select Personalize (Windows 7).
You can set the screen properties from there.
One quick thing to check - make sure the hookup to the monitor is firmly seated at both ends. A loose connection can cause something like what you’re seeing, and it happens a lot when someone disconnects a monitor to work on a ‘puter.
Yes, Windows 7 Home Premium. I think you are correct. I will look at that.
To the rest of you, we are WAY out in the country, this guy always does a great job, so I hate to call him back, but I will if I have to.
Mrs Texas, if that’s your real name, ignore the jokers, click on Control Panel, then on Appearance and Personalization, then you’re on your own.
You know, I don’t say “Thank God for underwear” very often, but this time, oooooh yeah.
(an old FR meme that many people will remember)
Type operating system and computer?
If it is a windows 7 or probably any windows go to start, then control panel then Appearance and personalization. Then you set it to how you want it to look. These may not be the exact words for every computer, but if you check around you should find something similar.
HEY ! Where did you get my photo from ?
