Mars had an oxygen-rich atmosphere four billion years ago

Mars had an oxygen-rich atmosphere more than a billion years before the Earth, say scientists. An examination of meteorites and rocks on the planet suggests that oxygen was affecting the Martian surface four billion years ago.

On Earth, oxygen did not build up to appreciable quantities in the atmosphere for at least another 1.5bn years

The internet is nowhere to be found in the Bible. If one believes that something not in the Bible doesn’t exist and couldn’t have happened, posting that factoid on the web is somewhat inconsistent...

It is, in my honest opinion, better to use an actual passage from the Bible to show how not all things are explained in the Bible. That’s why I use the fifth chapter of Daniel scene. The hand was attached to an arm which was attached to a living body which was standing or floating in a where/when not available to those in palace party central.

So Popular Mechanics is the new paradigm of all knowledge?

These are just theories. Nothing wrong with theories, but there are just as many that say other things.

There is NO other life other than what was covered in the Bible. If there is space aliens, they are either demons

You do know that exactly that very reasoning was used as an excuse to murder whole tribes of American Indians, don't you?

Demons according to the bible can only be cast out or avoided, there are no examples of demons being killed. Jesus cast out demons, he did not kill them. The bible warns us to stay away from demons and it calls for them to be cast out of those they possess.

Yep. Yet the natives were murdered none-the-less, weren’t they?

You can believe what you want, but I’m glad the earth has a strong and persistent magnetic field.

This is a science thread so you’ll need to provide evidence.

Two questions:

1. Is the biblical text responsible for intentionally misuse of exegesis?

2. Is the value of the biblical text dependent on those who intentionally misuse exegesis?

To demonstrate logical problem your criticism in another argument, if the Indians were killed with firearms:

1. Is the firearm responsible for the intentional misuse of firearms?

2. Is the value of firearms eliminated because they were intentionally misused?

I’m glad too and am concerned that it’s moving. I believe the field swapped ends during Genesis and may do it again. Look up the birth of Peleg in Genesis.

True. That’s quite a remarkable discovery if it bears out.

Yeah! Otherwise our atmosphere would be swept away into interstellar space like Mars and Venus!

No.

2. Is the value of the biblical text dependent on those who intentionally misuse exegesis?

No.

Would I be a decent person if I did not speak out against a future misuse, that of the Bible to justify an attempted wholesale slaughter of people from another world?

To demonstrate logical problem your criticism in another argument, if the Indians were killed with firearms:

1. Is the firearm responsible for the intentional misuse of firearms?

No.

If you know someone has a mindset to misuse a firearm, would you have some slight level of responsibility if you knew that and could educate them to a better mindset and didn't even try?

2. Is the value of firearms eliminated because they were intentionally misused?

Not in the slightest.

(BTW, that was four questions, I counted...)

“There is NO other life other than what was covered in the Bible”

The Duck-Billed Playtpus isn’t mentioned in the Bible. Neither is the Tetanus bacilli or the Small Pox virus. Does they mean they don’t really exist?

They deny the flood and the common sense that indicates the Earth and Universe are just not that old. The carbon dating is skewed b/c Noah’s Flood would have buried all the land animals and plants on Earth. The 2nd link below provides a graph that adjusts carbon dating for just such a problem.

Einstein posited gravitational time dilation which thereby allows for apparent faster movement of time and space in lower gravitational fields - just another fact that is often overlooked when they choose to ascribe millions and billions of years to rocks, planets and starlight.

Starlight and Time by Russell Humpheys
The key to the starlight and age of the universe is ‘gravitational time dilation’.

Demons can’t be “killed” - because they don’t have a living body. One could also gather that it is impossible to destroy them.

The demons even asked Jesus if he’d come to torment them before their time, not that they feared “dying” or being destroyed.

OK - just ‘all the land animals and plants’ except for one boatload of animals whose fur and hair most likely held some of the seeds for plant regeneration (i.e. any of those plants alive today that could not withstand upto 1 year under water anyways).

I’ve spent over 30 years studying what science says and what the Bible says. Only one source does not change and is also irrefutable imho. If you study these link I provided then you begin to see the worldview that aligns with the God of Truth Justice and the only Way.
