Let the Commanders Command

By The Editors

In connection with recent congressional hearings on the problem of sexual assault in the military, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.) proposed a radical restructuring of the armed forces’ judicial process. Currently, military commanders have “disposition authority” to convene courts ad hoc to dispose of criminal matters, on the theory that a commander’s duty is to maintain good order and discipline in his unit and adjudicating criminal infractions committed by his men and women falls under this aegis. Military lawyers in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGs) serve as legal advisers to commanders; they investigate accusations of wrongdoing and write recommendations about whether particular cases should go to trial, but commanders make the ultimate decisions.

Democrats in Congress are determined to establish political officers in the military, a parallel chain of command with authority to overrule any decision not in synch with the political whims of the Administration. This is a very important first step on that journey.

Why is Hasan alive?

So he can feather his nest with our tax dollars?

So he can enjoy his lack of mobility as a paraplegic?

So he can be the poster child for Islamic tolerance?

So he can act out in court be his own lawyer and generally stick it to the American people while so engaged?

So he can tell his story with the full faith and confidence of the American media in support?

So he can contiue sticking it to the American people for as long as the “system” allows?

All of the above?

None of the above?

I am a Navy officer who just did SAPR training yesterday (the latest round). You will not believe what we are being told now. Just touching (tapping) someone on the shoulder is assault. If you have sex with a woman and there is any amount of alcohol involved, even if there is consent, it is still sexual assault. We had civilian DOD workers in the brief and of course the resident lesbians were hooping and hollering. I am so ashamed.

centurion316 ~:" Democrats in Congress are determined to establish political officers in the military, a parallel chain of command with authority to overrule any decision not in synch with the political whims of the Administration. "

(from the article):" ..Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.) proposed a radical restructuring of the armed forces’ judicial process..."

The Junior Senator from the state of New York, walking hand in hand with Senator SCHUMER, is proposing a change in the military judicial process . She has little expierience at being a Senator She has no expierience in the military She has no expierience in the adimistration of military justice

What she is proposing is the establishment of the office of " Zampolit " (previously known in the Soviet military).

A 'zampolit..' is a Soviet political commissar who usually held more power than the unit's commanding officer. They weren't concerned with good strategy. All they wanted was an ideologically pure unit.

Bet you’re thrilled with the May AlNav on the comprehensive visual inspection of all DON workplaces in order to ‘remove all degrading or offensive material’. Better hide your Field and Stream mags.

What a novel idea - let the commanders handle their people and problems. Today’s AF is so micromanaged that the commander of the unit I work for as a DOD civilian has less control over what she does with the people she commands than I had over the people I supervised as a senior NCO in the 90’s.

My military time was in the early VOLAR experience (all-VOLunteer ARmy) and well remember the conversations among senior NCOs about how it had all gone to hell with the end of the draft. Little did we know the steepness of the slippery slope...

Why are the C0LE bombers alive and free?

Even Rush won’t say it. M0slem Brotherh00d is in the Cabinet; safari vacations $60-$100M are meant to get us used to it; military leaders and CIA directors are being replaced w/ Marzist lawyers...why? Because there are 3 yrs left to dismantle us enough that no one will fight back. 1.6B bullits?
IRS agents being trained? Americorps? Watched Part II yet of Atlas Shrugged?

No, 0bamma will not step down in 3 yrs. Am I crazy enough to believe what I am espousing? Yep. This is why he can blame the congress for Sequestration and assign everything to it and spend our $60M on a safari.

Perhaps I can copyright my purposeful misspellings.

Soviet Zampolit ,Lev Zakharovich Mekhlis, Stalin’s personal secretary , in 1940 , who argued in favor of murdering Polish army officers and Catholic Priests in the Katyn Massacre .
A massacre from which the Polish people never fully recovered . Remarkable !!

Valerie Jarrett is Zippy's zampolit

“After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we don’t forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay." --Valerie Jarrett

In the ‘Hunt for Red October’ , the zampolit (political officer) held a set of keys for the missles .

It demonstrates the significance given to political correctness .
No wonder the junior commie from New York wants to subrogate the commanders authority for ‘political expediency and political correctness ‘.

The lawyers have been slowly and steadily increasing their influence in the military. They frighten Commanders half to death. We used to joke that the lawyer’s answer to everything was “No”. The best lawyers in the Army were the ones who had been Combat Arms Officers.
