Bring yourself to the game. Leave the cooler and backpack at home.

The NFL is tightening stadium security starting this preseason, limiting the size and type of bags fans can bring to the game.

The restrictions are designed to enhance security while speeding up entry into stadiums.

With the exception of medically necessary items, only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches will be allowed. One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags also will be OK, as will small clear plastic bags approximately the size of someone’s hand, with or without a handle or strap. …

what nfl stadium allowed you to bring your own coolers with food and drink?????

Cleveland hasn't...but you have been able to bring a plastic grocery bag full of food. No drinks allowed. But all the food you want.

I usually pack a couple sandwiches to eat at halftime. I think I'll just need to put them in a gallon ziplock now instead of a grocery bag.

The seat cushion thing is BS. When it's six degrees with 30mph winds, we have those lava buns that you pop in the microwave before you leave giving you a warm seat cushion.

Kill the NFL and save all those tax dollars.

Perhaps not, but where coolers have been allowed - this will certainly improve it at least around the margins.

I'm sure you're right. I had no idea any stadiums allowed coolers. But I admit to only having personal experience at my own.

Lambeau always are sellouts for Packer games. Good thing we don’t have to bring our own beer!

Don’t fool yourself. The government has a hand in everything these days. Everything.

I reached my tipping point with the cost and hassle of attending an NFL game seven years ago. I don’t have this blind allegiance to the NFL anymore, but that’s just me.

NFL is socalized anyways:
1) bad teams scheduled to play other bad teams
2) best draft choices go to worst teams
3) wage controls
4) way too many rules and technicallities

you so miss the point - yes I know the govt has their hands in everything, but you still can opt out of doing any business with the NFL if you don’t like their policies. So the gov “papers” analogy is stll flawed.....

No purses, bags, or backpacks at Beaver Stadium this fall announced today:

PSU Sports Release

They put this policy in effect for the spring game and the women were not happy. Tough enough filling a 110K seat stadium without overreaching policies like this.

What makes you think that NFL fans should be allowed to watch millionaires toss a ball around a stadium for minimal costs? Hey there’s big bills to pay! Pay up or get out of the way.

I’m a mom. Cell, keys, tissues, wet wipes and a safe place for my wallet. A small, clutch? What world are these idiots living in. I like Progressive Field. No coolers but my son can wear a small, stringed backpack to store his stuff and I can have a decent sized across the shoulder bag. I am supposed to carry a ziploc bag and not have my hands free? Wait! I just have to pay to buy their approved 12x12 at the stadium. Screw them. I have the Sunday Ticket.

It will definitely speed up getting into the stadium which is a big plus...I have sat outside Lambeau in huge lines the last couple of years due to slow security measures.

The NFL has a bigger problem which is the fan experience has become IMO pretty miserable and yes even at Lambeau. Expensive as hell to eat/drink within the confines, constant TV time outs make sitting in the stands exceptionally boring, and at least at Lambeau an aging season ticket base who feels that standing and cheering on your team is an infringement on their game day experience. I see more fights in the stands between fans who want to stand and cheer the Pack on vs fans that feel their view is blocked than I see between drunks these days.

Still the best venue in the world to see a football game but the NFL is doing its best to destroy it.

You can't bring this stuff into college games, and the SEC seems to pack em in anyway.

Well if it was like it was back when I went to Gator games, it was pretty easy to get around that.

It will be much more difficult for Eagles’ fans to bring in their whiskey bottles to throw at the refs.

More window dressing security measures, just like the ones at the airport that won’t stop the terrorist tactics we already know about, much less whatever they have in the conceptual stages.

When these fail, and the Superbowl gets hit, then can we talk about deporting Muslims?

I think afer 9-11, getting around it is still possible, but more difficult, and to a lesser degree.

I think within 4-5 years, we’ll see pretty tight restrictions on tailgating (limited hours and a total ban on alcoholic beverages in the parking lot) and severe limits on alcoholic beverage sales in the stands at professional sporting events. Watch the stands become a lot more civilized because of far more sober fans there.
