It's safe to say Bill Belichick doesn't hate Tim Tebow after all.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Monday the New England Patriots are signing Tebow after all. Just in time for Tuesday's mandatory minicamp.

Way back in April, the Patriots were atop our list of potential Tebow landing spots because of Belichick's appreciation of versatile players and his love of all things University of Florida. But this news still comes as a surprise because of the timing.

WOW !!! The Team of the great Tom Brady himself.

Two possibilities:

1) Tebow will have a shot to compete for the No. 2 quarterback job behind Tom Brady (it should go without saying that with Brady in the lineup, Tebow has no chance to start in New England),

2) The Patriots are more interested in taking a look at him at another position and as an occasional wildcat quarterback.

Excellent!

New England is a stable enough team they can handle the media circus with Tebow.

“We have room for one Quarterback here, Tim. His name is Tom, not “Tim”, get it? We’re going to put you where we put you, Tim, but our quarterback’s name is “Tom”. Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth? You are not the quarterback for this team, even if zombies rise from the grave and threaten mankind.”

I wonder if that means the Pats are trading Ryan Mallett? I can’t think of another reason they would be in such a rush to bring in another back up. Mallett to Dallas, perhaps???

I remember a few years ago Tom Brady said in an interview, "Is winning a couple of Superbowls all there is?"

He expressed the idea that he had it all, yet still questioned who/what he was.

Hopefully, his new teammate might help him find the answer to that question.

I like Tom Brady despite the fact he's from UM and I'm a true Buckeye. I wish success for them both.

I thought that New England or New Orleans were the places he could end up as they have a QB no one would call to be replaced, a good coaching situation, and that top QB could mentor Tebow. I am happy to see someone is taking a shot at it.

with Brady in the lineup, Tebow has no chance to start in New England

In the NFL, a backup QB is only one play away from starting a few games. Think Matt Cassel.

I think they will use him as a backup because New England's OC is the coach who originally drafted him. Back when Brady was drafted, apparently no one thought he would be a big time QB.

I hope he goes well except playing the Jets. Then I hope he does really, really well.

With defenses bringing in more and more SEC thug players it’s good to have a back up who’s faced them before.

He (Tebow) won’t be with the team by the end of training camp.

This idea first came up when Tebow was let go last year. Tom Brady's career is ebbing, and he and the team might benefit greatly from having a player who's willing to learn. They're a highly thought of organization under Kraft and I'd assume Tebow will be welcome there.

Plus, Boston just loves sticking it to NY to do something they can't do. <^..^>

I guess New England Christians should be left in the dustbin, eh? We don’t even deserve to have a chance to have a professing Christian like that come here.
I just love encouraging words that Bible Belters like you give us. Makes me wonder just what kind of a Christian you must be, all smug in your self assuredness.
There but for the grace of God go I.
