Friends, countrymen, let me explain what has been happening for years and is only now coming to head with all of the present scandals. A couple of years ago, my wife and I went to look at a house for sale. A Federal employee and his Filipino wife were selling and in the conversation, the man admitted he was retiring to the Philippines. It didn't register at the time, but now it is really hitting me.
It is very inexpensive to live in the Philippines, servants are cheap, housing is a steal and food prices are rock bottom. Almost all educated Filipinos speak, read and write English with some modicum of fluency. If the investigative media were to look in to this, they would find a large number of retired Federal employees who have their retirement income directed to the Philippines (Costa Rica, Belize, San Miguel de Allende area in Mexico and probably even Thailand) and some may even be living on and/or starting businesses in those countries on ill-gotten gains from Federal service.
It does bear investigation and the task would not be insurmountable. These Federal employees have raped America for years and are living the good life while our economic and spiritual lives collapse over here. More than likely illegal immigration issues are tied to fraudulent activity as well. You have to have SOMEBODY to provide tax funds to pay for the retirement pensions of these parasites. If they "disappear" to the right location on the globe, they can live virtually undetected.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you think the US is burning down, how long will you be safe in the Phillipines, Honduras or Belize? My family is here. That’s who I owe my honor to- It’s not about me, if I hide in a ditch like Gollum and forsake my grandchildren then what am I?
I have heard that guns are not allowed in these foreign countries. That would pretty much be a stopper for me to move there.
Almost worth thanking the US GVT for helping me make that decision. So instead of a working taxpayer, I am becoming a parasite on the US.
80,000 per year pension these federal employees recieve for 20 years of doing nothing.
I don’t want a servant, especially a cheap one.
The disintegration of family is key- we used to stay in striking distance for holidays at least. Now we don’t care or influence anyone once close to us.
Strengthen the things that remain.
Lots of people use Skype and Facebook. If family members lived on opposite US coasts, they likely wouldn't see each other that often anyway, so 3000 miles or 10,000 really doesn't make much difference.
Besides, traveling to/from overseas means only have to be assaulted by TSA on one side of the trip.
Agree. The wiser move is to slash federal salaries and benefits, with no grandfathering.
Am I to understand that you believe that government employees do nothing but sit on their back sides and drink coffee all day for 20 years, stealing money from Americans who work in the private sector then leave the country to “live like millionaires” in another country.
I don’t know who you have talked with, but not all government employees are lazy or thieves. Those of us in the medical fields work our butts off everyday of the year we are at work, short staffed most of the time and do the job of two or three people. Most of us provide care to our veterans and active duty soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen, and strive to give them the best care that we can and that they deserve.
Many of us are retired or former military, or disabled veterans who still want to serve our country. We work for the different departments of the military or defense. Many of us work for a living and we are proud of our country’s history and the legacy we have forged with our blood, sweat and at times, tears.
Don’t lump us all together with those who get elected to a job they say they will do then do nothing for 2-6years, then after one term, retire with full pay and benefits.
I don’t care where people go to live. I like the idea of liberal, federal employees moving to another country.
Unfortunately for us, many foreign countries are starting to learn that seniors from the U.S. offer stability and financial gain to their nations. Urguay, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Chile, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines are making it very attractive for American retirees to relocate. I believe this trend will accelerate as more Baby Boomers retire and the U.S. continues to descend into chaos. Many of these countries also offer world class medical care at a reasonable price.
Thailand’s getting pretty pricey and the language is a barrier to most.
Otherwise....
Don't give these D.C. beltway bastards any new ideas! They are already in the big shakedown mode against John Q. Public!!!
Ever work at a Federal shipyard, EPA, Army Corp...? For every one "workers" there are two holding a chair down and drinking coffee.
To get an $80,000 per year pension you'd need to have been a top end appointee, SES, or General grade officer for at least 3 years plus have most of your life spent in a federal position ~ which places you among the very few.
Remember average entry into federal service is at age 35!
It's far more likely that a pensioner with $80k would have worked for a state or couny highway department ~ and is probably barely literate.
OH did I say $80,000 per year pension, try $120,000 per year pension for 20 years of doing nothing at a government job. $120,000 is many millions worth per year in many foreign countries (compare living expenses you can live like a king for only a few us dollars in many countries).

How did America become broke and insolvent? How did we build up an unimaginable $115 trillion in debt and unfunded liabilities? How did we allow the American Dream to become a nightmare?
The truth is that government employees are the true 1%. We have far too many of them (21 million), many of them are paid too much, and their union demands are straining taxpayers to the breaking point.
They have become a privileged class that expects to be treated superior to the taxpayers — the same folks who pay their salaries and pensions. But it is their obscene pensions that are the big problem moving forward for America.
How would you like to retire with $6 million? $8 million? $10 million? All you have to do is become a government employee to hit the jackpot.
You dont believe me? Do the math.
I recently talked with a retired New York City toll taker. His salary averaged about $70,000 per year over 20 years. But in his last few years he worked loads of overtime and added in accumulated sick days to get his salary in those final years up to $150,000.
His pension is based on his final years’ salary. This is a common pension-padding ploy.
He bragged that he will now get a taxpayer funded pension of $120,000 a year for the rest of his life. Hes only 50 years old.
The average 50-year old male has a life expectancy of almost 80. With automatic cost of living increases, thats a bill to taxpayers of $5 million for the next 30 years —for not working. THREE TIMES WHAT HE EARNED WHILE WORKING.
And, of course, were also paying his medical bills.
No country, no budget, and no taxpayers anywhere in the world can afford this. Ask Greece.
Guy wasn't a government employee!
Try again some time when you get this stuff figured out.
>> I dont know who you have talked with, but not all government employees are lazy or thieves.
Yeah, it’s the 99.9% that are rotten that, unfortunately, give all of you a bad name.
Oh, and not just lazy thieves. Some (MANY!) are malevolent abusers of our rights. ALL the DOE, or instance; ALL the EPA, ALL Dept of Labor, ALL IRS, ...
