I could be wrong, but the helmets don’t look like U.S. issue. Reminds me of Japanese helmets.

The helmet also caught my eye. When the Allies invaded Europe
in ‘44 the French contingent was supplied by the US including
helmets, I believe.

Same here. The soldier on the right has the collars worn outside the jacket like Japanese officers wore their shirts.

I dont think thats a GI. The helmet isnt American...possibly French(?)I would bet on Italian during Ethiopian campaign.
