Sorry, but you’re a moron. Pit bulls are in news daily for maiming and KILLING. I don’t care that some breeds attack more, Pit bulls are almost exclusively the breed that kills. Having a Pit Bull and a child is prima facie evidence of child abuse.
I’m sorry, but dog owners are incredibly good at living in denial. All dogs bite, Pit Bulls kill. It’s wonderful that you have a mindmeld with your animal, I have one with my pet lion too... No really, she’s tame... come on in... What the hell are you afraid of?
I don’t think it has to be that stark choice. Do you also make it a choice of having a tv and a child, because the child might at some point pull down the tv?
But they do need to be watched constantly and you do have to be proactive at all times, like putting the baby in the crib if you have to go to the washroom and such.
I grew up with dogs from the time I was a baby and there was rarely a problem.
These type parents would be ok with leaving their newborn with a 6 foot boa in the same room alone.
And every right-winger living in a "compound."
Did you even read my post? Or just the first 2 words?
The baby was playing with the COCKER SPANIEL'S food and the dog defended the dinner.
I know the doctor reported it as a dog bite but there were numerous lacerations.
Shoulda got a cat.

In those early years, Treadwell looked like what he was: a shaggy blond beach bum from Malibu, Calif. But he had a thing for grizzly bears.Treadwell, 46, persevered and spent the past 13 summers living among the immense creatures. Friends compared him to Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey.
The object of Treadwell's affections turned on him this month, when he and his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard, 37, were mauled to death by an old male bear outside their tent in Katmai National Park in Alaska.

Yep, any dog can attack. Thankfully, most won’t.
Probably wouldn’t make the papers today - doesn’t fit the narrative.
I'm sorry, but 'pitbull' haters are incredibly good at living in a state of fixation
and disregarding the potential danger inherent in all dogs.
Whether their infant was killed by a 'pitbull" or a JRT
is of little consolation to grieving parents.
Act like you are a conservative.
Advocate for responsible ownership and personal accountability
regardless of the type or breed of dog owned.
Leave the histrionics for the liberals.
“End the breed.”

I have had dogs and babies at the same time. Never a pit bull but I would never leave the dog or the baby unattended. Neither has the smarts to avoid a conflict. The kid could think its funny to pull on the dogs tail or poke it in the eye, the dog could perceive a threat in the only way it knows.
I had a Sheltie terrier that was sleeping in my room and my daughter came in and sat on him like a horse. The dog woke from a sound sleep and was ready to pounce until he saw who it was and restrained himself. But he was still annoyed.
Great movie.
If you look at the comments on that page, apparently the paramedic identified the dog as a DOBERMAN.... but of course, if the dog attacked, then it must be pit, right??? Parental lack of responsibility regardless. What are the dogs doing in a pen? Dogs in pens and dogs chained up = aggression in most cases. More and more I think those wanting to adopt dogs need to be forced to take a course on dog behavior....
Thus Eaker's chart. As always, it's the owners.
I agree re the parents. Some people shouldn't be trusted with a houseplant, much less a dog or child.
So well said (besides, this dog was apparently misidentified in the article...)
Absolutely (and I LOVE that chart!!)
