Bonedigger the crippled lion forms inseparable bond with Milo the miniature sausage dog - to the point where Milo even helps clean his teeth!
A lion and a miniature sausage dog have formed an unlikely friendship after the little dog took the king of the jungle under his wing as a cub.
Bonedigger, a five-year old male lion, and Milo, a seven-year old Dachshund, are so close that Milo helps the lion clean his teeth after dinner. The 500lbs lion dwarfs little Milo, yet after the dog took the disabled lion into his protection as a cub, Bonedigger has rarely left his side.

BFF, how sweet. I seem to recall a bear and a monkey in a bike race recently. Monkey cut the bear off...and that was the end of the monk, tra la.
If I were a pooch I would be so careful not to cross a lion.

The location of this ‘animal farm’ is down in Oklahoma where the tornadoes hit.

Isn’t he though? A gorgeous boy.
I’m glad he has a home where he receives good care.

Years ago Mr. Mercat and I fostered some friends’ pets, a huge shepherd/pinscher mix named Mason and a cockateel named Charlemagne. The little grey parrot would boss Mason around and walk all over him, cleaning his teeth and grooming him, even messing with his eyes and paws. The dog would just lie there loving it.

I cannot even imagine what it must be like to be able to touch such an amazing animal.
I mean just the thought of it blows my mind completely.
I have such respect and awe for the great cats, but especially the lion. Just look at that face.
That is a true king.
God bless those who have cared for this wonderful soul, and his pride of dogs.
What a great story!

Mr Reinke, who lost both his legs after a bungee jumping accident, added that the friendship between Bonedigger and his pack is unique. One never really knows what other indelible images one may come across when linking to and reading an entire article.
