One of my most prized rifles is the K98k Mauser I have manufactured in 1936 in the Mauser Oberndorf Factory.

Nearly every part that can be removed individually inspected and stamped, most with the same rifle serial number, even down to the cleaning rod. Laminated stock and very very good condition. The height of German precision before they started stamping everything with Swastikas.

That Luger is a piece of art; similar to the Leica iiig and the MB gull wing.

Having had both a P.08 and a P.38, I can say the P.08 has “sex appeal” in spades. The P.38 is a clunk in comparison. As a combat sidearm, the P.38 blows the doors off the P.08 for toughness and reliability. The P.38 would be my “go to war pistol” and the P.08 not so much.

The MP43/MP44 would be my choice for an assault rifle — more range and punch than the MP38/MP40.

Great episode that is an excellent history of WWII (Axis) arms design. Many of these weapons were brought back by veterans as war trophies which are sought after by arms collectors.
