Did the IRS ever strong arm FR and demand member lists?
Great graphic! Do you mind if I borrow it?
This site doesn’t look private to me. Everything is “open” here. I see everyone’s posts ... :-)
If I had a nickel for each one, I’d be rich. ;)
I recall a threat of legal action or maybe legal action itself against FR relating to the posting of full articles.
The result was that for certain websites, only links or excerpts can be posted - not full articles.
Maybe someone can shed more light on this as I don’t remember the whole story (if I ever even knew the whole story).
Secret Service:
Oh, no! DFU reported to the FBI again! (Well, the other times were actually the Secret Service)

Don’t forget the Rat blogs that follow the website closely.
I’m sure there is a FEMA camp cot with my name on it. :-)
Nor do they forget old outspoken ones.
way back article at the now defunt Muffled Oar blog about DOJ Russo astroturfing unit. Free Republic mentioned as one of those lucky conservative sites receiving anonymous comments on posts critical of the DOJ.

I dunno but I imagine Jim’s answer would be brief and to the point staring with an F and ending with a u.
I am not sure if that is an answer though. What I posted came from the FR homepage. You'll have to ask Jim Robinson if the IRS impeded FR or ever asked for donation lists to intimidate members directly. I donate to FR and I really do not care if the IRS knows or not. If the IRS comes knocking at my door, they will not receive a pleasant reception.
Revolutions have been started over less and I am willing to be part of a much needed revolution whether peaceably or not.
That may sound whacked out, but I sincerely believe the 2a exists to insure the 1a exists. That's the responsibility we have as citizens of a Republic. Our founding fathers knew exactly what they were doing, as the Bill of Rights were written after the revolution and one failed form of government.
> They already know everything about us, believe me. Im sure all of our IP addresses are registered and in a database of enemies of the state somewhere.
Wear it as a badge of honor. You’re a patriot that believes in The Constitution and loves your country. You’re just angered that your government has become a tyrant that whose power has become overreaching. Seriously can they really get that upset over that? As long as you don’t threaten the President you probably won’t have any problems.
Mine is at the beach.
Oh I know...boy do I know....
They probably asked, but what JR would have told them is not printable on this forum.
darn trigger finger again. Defunct is what I was trying to type.
Three years ago I got audited by the IRS for painting a mural in the courtyard garden of a local in-house mental health facility. I painted it at night, after work, and it took me six weeks to do all three walls. I put my heart and soul into it. They paid me ten thousand dollars for it. The company declared it on their taxes, and so did I. But when I filed my taxes that year, I go a nasty letter from the IRS. They said I owed them five thousand dollars for painting that mural, and if I didn’t pay up they’d put a lien on my house. For a measly five thousand buck! Needless to say I paid them, just to get them off my back. So you see, it’s not just the big Tea Party organizations who are being harassed and shaken down by the Big Government gestapo.
