A Florida man accidentally shot himself in the leg while bowling Tuesday night.
The man was at the bowling lanes in Jupiter, Fla., and witnesses told WPBF the ball likely hit the man's leg during his back swing.
At first, some people at the bowling alley thought it was a firecracker going off.
Witnesses say the man limped back to his seat clutching his leg.
He was taken to hospital as a precaution, but his injuries weren't expected to be life-threatening.
The man's identity wasn't released.
Somebody needs to point out to this individual that handguns are only properly used in golf and polo... bowling requires something with a larger bore.
Live by the ball.........
Die by the ...............
<;)
I just tried to fire my Glock with a bowling ball. It wouldn't work because you see, it won't fire until you pull the trigger.
Maybe it was one of those 1911's which are the goto gun for retards.
See post# 63.
Glocks are 'striker fired', they don't have hammers like older design semi-autos like the 1911 or Browning Hi Power.
Post# 63 is for you too.
A cocked hammer? Snort!
Not my fault, it was one of those weird two finger balls.
Trebuchet fodder !.....:o)
Great. Here’s the part where the whole thread gets hijacked by the Glock vs. 1911 crowd.
Yeah, that trigger safety is going to work out real well when some schmuck with a waistband holster takes it bowling in his pants. Thanks, but I’ll take any one of my Kimber 1911’s over your Glock, any day.
Some of us gun nuts can get a little passionate.
Have you ever actually seen a Glock?
Clearly you have never shot one.
Probably best to stick with a gun which has a bunch of safeties and requires a note from mom to allow one to actually fire it.
I enjoy jabbing at folks who are gun experts but suddenly turn into knee-jerk liberals when the word Glock is used in their presence.
I'm picky. Granted. As a practical matter, I don't particularly care for the grip (bulky, like the Ruger) or their triggers, which I found a bit "sticky". They are very accurate, though - as good as any other. They do seem to feed FMJ's noticeably better than JHP's, but your experience might be different. Of all the above, SIG's are the best made (though pricey as hell). For a 9mm, I eventually opted for the Springfield XD in the 4" police service model: 16+1, great trigger, both grip and ambi safeties, and never a misfeed, ever. I don't think I'd carry one while bowling, though.
Bowling is dangerous enough without a gun.
;<)
We all have our preferences and peccadilloes. I have done almost all of my training with my carry weapon which is a Glock. I am actually more accurate with my .357 magnum but it just ain’t a carry gun.
When I can’t carry my Glock because of circumstances beyond my control I have a little bitty .380 Kel-Tec which I carry in my pocket just like my keys. One of those deals where any gun in your pocket is better than the gun at home.
Take care,
I dunno. I've never held one or fired one. Just speculatin'.
But as in post #44;
"According to a witness it was a Glock but it did not go off because it was hit with a bowling ball. It went off because he was reseating it in a cheap holster while walking back to the bench."
That’ll or at least could do it....
Well then thats different, he pulled the trigger.
Glocks, 1911s, an kimbers are all good guns. Any gun is capable of being involved with a negligent discharge when being handled by an idiot.
Personally, I rarely walk around with a round chambered unless I have to go somewhere really sketchy.
