Glacier like ice moving across Mille Lacs lake, damaging houses. Read more at http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=2d7_1368313995#PrGKBVHx6c7KxzW3.99
Where’s ALgore?
This is not August. It’s not a glacier, yet. They do have warm weather there, though. Must be nice.
Still waiting to plant corn here in PA. I check the temp at 4:00 today and it was 58 degrees. Going down in the 30’s tonight. Am I complaining? No. Great weather. No need for heat or AC. The corn will be planted. Now if there is a freeze in August, then we have problems.
They may be upset when their insurance company denies coverage.
Regular homeowners insurance specifically disclaims coverage for damage caused by “moving water”. You need to specifically buy federal flood insurance for that. They will try to declare that moving ice is moving water.
I don’t understand this at all. Crazy is right!
This stuff happens up north. Lakes freeze, wind blows, ice breaks up, wind blows the ice into piles on land.
It IS, of course, a bit late in the year for this, but it is not rare. If your house is near the water level, you are asking for trouble.
Here’s some shots from Grand Lake St. Marys in Ohio. Click on the thumbnails below for some more shots. Ice seems to have been about 8 inches thick when the wind broke it up.

It happens on the Great Lakes, too.
Mother Nature just showing and being BOSS.
Caused by globull warming, and George Bush, of course.
It’s not a glacier, just ice from the lake. Amazing to watch, tho - and it happened in seven minutes? Good grief.
You wanna know how the planet's doing? Ask those people whose homes were damaged by lake ice in Minnesota how the planet's doing.
very annoying...AND LOUD...commentary on the LL video.
The corn is being planted here in southern Michigan now. Temps around 30 degrees tonight but the corn should be fine beneath the surface. Supposed to start warming up again tomorrow.
That is FREAKY! I thought at first what a stupid story as there is water out there, there is no glacier. BUT....I watched a few seconds more and the ice was moving at a very rapid rate. Wow!
