NBC Cancels Everything
Yahoo ^ | 5/10/13 | Richard Lawson

Today in show business news: NBC is cleaning house while CBS is adding more clutter, including a Robin Williams/Sarah Michelle Gellar show. Yes, you read that right.

More cancellation news from the Peacock as the network gets ready to present its new schedule to advertisers at next week's upfront presentation in New York. Yesterday it was Whitney and 1600 Penn, today it's Matthew Perry's freshman sitcom Go On and Brian Williams's weekly news magazine Rock Center. They are really cleaning house as they do yet another yearly overhaul, hoping that this is the one that works. This leaves The New Normal as the only freshman comedy to survive the 2012-2013 season. Yikes! Not a good year for NBC. But when is it a good year for NBC? I mean they have The Voice and that's a hit, but that's kind of it. Ah well. Better luck next year.

I wish someone would simply cancel NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN and all like them. Simply take them off the air.

“Will anyone notice?”

Certainly not I. I haven’t watched network programming in at least the last 5 years.

I dumped it in 2000 and have not missed it.

People still watching network or cable are doing nothing but contributing to the liberalism they otherwise hate. Their viewership translates into advertizing dollars and those advertizing dollars are, in turn, used as pressure to keep conservative viewpoints/shows/commentators off the air.

Sports are now a social experiment, news is purest propaganda and the ‘entertainment’ is vastly liberal, anti christian and gay friendly.

People who continue feeding this monstrosity deserve every bit of the hell liberalism brings. Because they funded it.

I used to be a huge fan of Days of Our Lives, would watch it every single day when I had the chance, but ever since they went full homo promoting the homosexual agenda I hardly watch it anymore, has made the show go down the drain in ratings

Yes - Grimm and Revolution - two good ones on my list.

They kept “the new normal” that says a lot there. They still haven't learned. Pathetic.

Be of good cheer! It was a late cancellation...poof! It's gone. The ratings were horrible...especially for one of the 'big three'.

I faithfully watch CBS, “Bluebloods”—excellant cop drama with a decidedly conservative -family perspective!

also Fox....

3 years ago; my cable company sent me a note...something like this: “guess what? you cable cost is increasing”....I send back a letter saying; “guess what? disconnect!!”

Peaceful around here in the evenings...no bimbo feminist 25 year old screaming at me over the TV screen...

I think that each network has at least one good show. My favorites are: on NBC, “Parks & Recreation;” CBS, “The Big Bang Theory; and ABC, “20/20.”

That would be a great show if Sarah Michelle Gellar kills a couple of vampires and Robin Williams goes back on drugs.

But do they still have the Olympics? I don’t know how I could watch snowboarding in Russia next year without the wonderful Bob Costas commentary.

My TV hasn’t been turned on in 2 weeks. I haven’t watched a network show in months. I can’t imagine I am alone in this.

I cancelled cable over one year ago. There was precious little of value to watch and my monthly fee was supporting MSNBC and its ilk. To my surprise, life improved after I cut that habit. I was wasting time "finding something to watch".

Now cable/satellite couldn't pay me to come back. If I watch anything, it is on DVD, sometimes Hulu or online (for breaking news).

I admit to watching some network stuff: NCIS LA; Hawaii 5-0. and Golden Boy (which will be cancelled this year). All are on CBS. I watch Jeopardy but lately I’ve grown a bit tired of it as I note lines of questions seem to “coincidentally” favor distaff contestants. I will never forgive them for accepting Laura for the name of Lara in Dr. Zhivago. That, and the preponderance of questions about Canada. Yeah, I like Canada but there are many other countries, one contiguous to the US, which are mentioned rarely.

Netflix is very good. I have found some nuggets of gold there amidst the gravel!

Fully Alive by Ken Davis is fantastic. Also The Way is great; Martin Sheen is in it.

I’m watching “500 MPH Winds” on Instant Watch. Amazing movie! OK, not really, but it’s fun to laugh at.

A few years ago, I would have rolled my eyes at comments like these. Now I have to say that I agree with you.

Thanks Libloather.

NBC should a) start a journalism division and b) go all-news, taking on the 24 hr news on cable/sat.
