Alcoholics Anonymous is an organization with Christian roots and like some churches has embraced the homosexual lifestye (although some modern AA's deny it). This video gives a little personal insight into how it was done. Reading that AA embraces homosexuality is more than ‘disturbing’, rather it displays a severe character flaw.

On the other hand, perhaps the organization is recognizing that homosexuality, like alcohol, is an addiction.

Wonder if the embracement would include those inclined to pedophilia?

I was in NA and it was clear, there was a forced acceptance of them, back in the 1980’s.

AA has had sex segregated meetings for a long time. If they can keep it segregated/along gay straight lines, then there should not be a problems. If a few gay activists take over every meeting and try to make it all about them, then there will be a problem.

I would rather that people who identify as gay be sober than drunk so I have no problem with them going to AA. It works. There are multiple meetings every day in most communities. I’m a ten year member of Al-anon. It’s a spiritual group. I don’t do meetings any more after my home group started being, IMHO, unhealthy. I still follow the principals. I’ve moved my time to more active participation in my Church community.
