I Love It, when people refuse to toe the PC line in the dirt! My favorite name for the Washington Redskins was always the Washington Dead-skins but am seeing no dead skin on those ladies. The Washington Redskins were once the Boston Redskins. This name was chosen because there had been a tribe in the Boston area that used to paint themselves red while going into battle (during colonial times).

You have to search far and wide to find the word “redskins” used in 18th and 19th Century documents. The word really used by settlers at the time was “redn#**@rs.”
