Your garden is bigger than ours. We just have an acre for the house and everything else.

We started putting in the perennials and orchard in 2010, so we are hoping to get fruit this year. We have grown strawberries for 3 years now, and nary a deer in sight for any of our stuff. Still if one appears, maybe Hubby will get a deer tag and hunt from the back porch.LOL

We have a bunch of wild blackberries, we prune them back and keep them contained where we can throw a net over most of them. We have also planted some thornless varieties, this year to see how that works.

Grapes have gone through 3 winters ok so far. Last spring they got nipped a bit during a spring frost, but the still had a big return, except for what the racoon stole on the lower levels.

I plant my Garlic in the fall. I love fall planting and I am not fond of spring planting - Maybe I should just grow winter grains and garlic. LOL

I bought a couple of dozen strawberry plants and planted them in an area north of our garage (raised bed). The next morning the plants were pretty much all gone. It was expensive deer food. Have you tried blueberries? We didn’t get many the first couple of years, but the last couple of years they are quite productive. We have five acres, gardens front and rear and a small greenhouse.
