This is sarcasm? (I hope)
I commend your consideration!
Anyone know if most (if not all) airlines have the policy forcing obese people to buy two seats?
Also, at that point, would it be more cost effective to get a seat in first class?
I always tell people, if the truth hurts don’t blame the person who said it, change it. There have been enough of these stories now that anybody that’s large knows which way the airline winds are blowing, there are numerous ways they can deal with it, pick one.
Wow, that's pretty nasty!
Cut out beer, refined sugar, refined flour and grains, and the weight will fall off. Exercise is not optional.
For the same reason I don’t go to the movies or sporting events.
Some airlines have the policy, but it’s not strictly enforced. Since obesity is not a clearcut line, and they’d have to ask your weight and assume you’re too big over a certain number, it’s not something they can apply fairly.
That’s a decent solution. I just don’t want someone’s sweaty arm fat rubbing on me for a couple hours.
PLUS they get real food in first class - something that should appeal to the heavy set :-) I have a friend who's 6'4" and about 320. He says he always flies first class because of his size even though it's expensive.
No you’re not. You carry it well. Really?
Nope. A 1st class seat from SJO to DIA is $1,500 as opposed to buying two cattle seats for $600.
But, 1st class is more comfortable and the bathroom is rarely crowded.
I am a Fat A$$ and have gotten even FATTER since retirement from the US Navy.
LOL
Sorry but, self deprecation is rare and always funny.
That’s good of him. Most people are not so courteous.
From your post you didn’t set next to him as you state. You sat seat away from him, as the seat next to him was full of “him”. You rather make the point that the very large should pay for two seats.
God is not providing a lot of empty seats for air passengers these days.
Maybe what the airlines should do is dedicate 4 oversize seat to overweight passengers and make sure the location of these seats conform with weight and balance of aircraft. The seats should be required when building the aircraft. Sacrificing these seats wouldn’t hurt much and sure would be in the interest of the public.
We were actually sitting next to each other at first. He is aware of his size and always orders a window seat, so others have a place to move.
We got lucky on this flight.
I agree. I’m a short normal weight person. Even I have cramped legs after a flight, and I’m only around 5’3”! I can’t imagine how my husband manages. He’s taller, larger and he “spills over.” Thankfully, we usually fly together and so we sort of cuddle up together so he’s not touching any other passenger.
But a huge part of the problem is that the seats do not accomodate even normal sized people. Their specs were for a smaller population, and I might add, a population that wasn’t so hung up about personal space. Our ancestors were used to being crammed into places “cheek to cheek,” much like people in 3d world countries do today.
I’ve said for years if they increase the size by 25% both directions, they could charge 50% more per ticket, people would gladly pay, and the airlines save some fuel costs.
win win
After over 20 years of US Navy PT and Weigh Control Programs I said to myself that after I retired if it moved I would hunt it down, kill it AND EAT IT! I did! Gained around 75 Lbs in 6 months after retirement. Now High Blood Pressure and Diabeates(sp?) is causing me to get serious about weight loss.
Wow!
Kill everything that is white, has white products and don’t butter everything.
You’re a Freeper. Like Tony Little says “You can do it, man!!!!””
