George W. Bush, not Barack Obama, is the real American hero in Africa. Take it from me, a liberal Democrat who voted for Obama twice. I know a little about Africa: I have been to the continent 17 times over the last 32 years. In particular, I have a great interest in South Sudan; I first traveled there in March 2008, and I have been back 13 since. South Sudan is the mostly Christian nation that won its independence from Sudan after a half-century of civil war; in 2011, South Sudan was admitted into the United Nations as a full member state. Sudan, of course, is the rogue Muslim nation that once harbored Usama Bin Laden and has been listed by the U.S. and Israel as a sponsor of terrorism for decades. Needless to say, South Sudan is much better off as a free and independent nation; it is able, at last, to chart its own pro-American, pro-Western course. Yet there is much more to South Sudan.

Is this just fall-out from the dedication of W’s Presidential library, or is something larger afoot?

First, Donna Brazile; now Ellen Ratner.

He did more to help the African AID epidemic than Clintoon or NObama combined yet it is never mention, only that he hates black people.

Bush elected office was President of the United States, not do-gooder of the world, sacrificing American blood and security for his strange worldview of a millenium utopia.

He campaigned in 2000 as a “compassionate conservative” which meant in 2008 a smaller sized debt increasing bailout than Obama’s.

Conservative W Bush NOT.

I was thinking the same thing. I need to check The Weather Channel to see if Hell froze over.

Very nice but the ulterior motive working there...to push Obama to do more in Africa.

And then there is the trial balloon with GW suggesting his brother Jeb would be a great matchup with Hillary in 2016.

Liberals want Jeb to run because he is easily defeated. Another RINO to hoist up and savage.

Maybe all those establishment liberals are figuring out that obama is just continuing most of junior's policies so they need to stop complaining about him.

And maybe, it’s just a nice article about a good man who, though not perfect, actually did good for some folks that desperately needed it.

Personally, I’ll take 100 Dubya’s over a single Obama any day.

“Liberals want Jeb to run because he is easily defeated. Another RINO to hoist up and savage.”

Exactly! They will ask the question: “Do you want 4 more years of W?” Both sides will answer: “Hell no!!”

He also failed to secure the border, failed to control spending, and laid the foundation for a police state that circumvents the Constitution.

Bush was not without some good instincts and sentiments, but his administration lacked an appreciation for the concept of practicality and was more philosophically in tune with Woodrow Wilson than Ronald Reagan and in competence was most reminiscent of Jimmy Carter.

I’ve got to look out and see if pigs are flying by! LOL, Ellen Ratner? It was her nasty brother who was always threatening to send GWB and his administration before some world court for war crimes!
