Should have added this. If the enviro-wacko-nutbags REALLY, REALLY cared about the erf, they would take themselves out of the equation for the “good of mankind”. Wouldn’t that be the right thing to do? But then I remembered. They are soooo much more brilliant than those of us that “don’t get it”. Can’t argue about “needing” earth island, greenways/greenbelts, turtle islands, wildlife corridors, bio-reserves and on and on. Basically, they would like everybody to live within walking distance of anything they “need” and dwell in 400sq/ft apartments. Kind of like the districts in The Hunger Games.

Have fun with a Marxist day!

Ask a Marxist why Lenin tried to implement capitalism (By promoting private profit to build a better infrastructure) to fix the Russian economy. Next, ask why Stalin, who replaced the NEP with his “five year plans”, why communists were in agreement to build a military industrial complex off the backs (And deaths) of peasants. Watch the spinning begin, lol.

They believe the lie. Worship the creation rather than the Creator.

And let's not forget one of the founders of Earth Day - Ira Einhorn (I love the old "The CIA did" excuse when he was caught)

Excerpts from his Wikipedia page

Ira Samuel Einhorn (born May 15, 1940), known as "the Unicorn Killer", is an American convicted murderer and former environmental advocate. Einhorn beat his ex-girlfriend, Holly Maddux, to death and then stored her body in a locked trunk in his apartment for more than a year — about 18 months — before she was discovered by the police.

He fled to Europe and was convicted 25 years later for her murder in 2002 and is serving a life sentence.

His moniker, "the Unicorn," came from his name, Einhorn — unicorn in German.

Born into a middle-class Jewish family, Einhorn studied at the University of Pennsylvania. He became active in ecological groups and was part of the counterculture, anti-establishment and anti-war movements of the 1960s and 1970s. He called himself "the Unicorn," because Einhorn and Unicorn translate as "One Horn".

Einhorn claimed to have been master of ceremonies at the first Earth Day event in Philadelphia in 1970.He claimed to have been instrumental in the creation and launching of the Earth Day event itself.

Taking the stand in his own defense, Einhorn claimed that Maddux was murdered by CIA agents who attempted to frame Einhorn for the crime due to Einhorn's investigations on the Cold War and "psychotronics"

Today is also the 19th anniversary of the death of Richard Nixon.

If Obama had his druthers, would Lenin's birthday be a federal holiday? Or would he go for someone else--Che? Mao? Stalin? Beria? Karl Marx? Malcolm X?

The genetic fallacy is what it is called when you attempt to discredit an idea based upon where it originated from instead of what the idea itself is actually about. It is, as the title indicates, fallacious. Doubly so if the origin you’re using to discredit is tenuous at best.

Attempting to draw associations between earth day and either pagans or communists is more than a little silly. Because the stated intent, the reason most people celebrate the holiday, is to bring to mind the fact that we humans have a massive impact on our environment, and thus have a certain responsibility if we want to keep it. While I’m absolutely certain that there *are* pagans who celebrate earth day in a more spiritual sense, for most people it’s just a reminder to recycle, turn off the lights when they leave the room, and maybe plant a tree.

If you’re going to attack the average earth day celebrant on the grounds that it’s pagan, then you can attack the average Christian for celebrating Christmas, which draws heavily on pagan backgrounds. Where do you think decorating a tree and hanging mistletoe came from?

Honestly, what’s to gain from trying to decry a holiday who’s stated purpose is to try and make the world more hospitable? There are nutty environmentalists out there, sure, but what are we trying to do here, stop people from planting trees?

In honor of earth day, I am going to take the long way home in my gas-guzzling Mustang. After getting home, I think I will burn an old tire.
