I would argue that these guys are members of an international group that are attempting to create a world Islamic government. A government in waiting.
The point of declaring them an enemy combatant is for intel, not prosecution.
Coverage makes ratings. A military trial doesn’t allow the media circus.
Probably so they can report on it. Civilian trials would be more open.

Might help send a signal to the rest of the traitors that think citizenship is the ticket to get away with treason. The AQ training manual instructs them to use our laws against us should they be caught. They know our courts are hopelessly liberal and that they stand a good chance of getting off and/or at the very least, making a big show trial to spout their nonsense.

Believe me I have no love for the coward but I’m not sure I want the government declaring US citizens on American soil “enemy combatants” so the civil due process is gone. If they make that call—whose next? Tea partiers?
