The USSR’s constitution had rights like free speech and freedom of assembly (and limited freedom of religion), thus a deformed version of the USA’s First Amendment, but no right to keep and bear arms—which meant the “proletariat” were at the mercy of the very Party that promised them freedom (to the toll of well over 100 million dead).

The 2nd Amendment right to bear arms was no more meant to be limited to 18th century militia and muskets than the 1st Amendment right of freedom of the press was meant to be limited to manually-operated printing presses.
