ABC Los Angeles affiliate KABC reported Fridaythat a panhandler approached the victim walking into a 7-Eleven store and asked him for money. The victim said no.
When the victim left the store and got into his SUV, the 37-year-old transient reportedly doused him and the inside of his vehicle with a flammable substance and lit it on fire, engulfing the truck in flames with the man inside

Occupy 7-Eleven?
No, you have to sit through the local online newcast to confirm the perpetrator is black and must have somehow felt he was Obama-entitled to the extortion. No word on the race of the victim, but I have my guesses.
A parable. I hope we learn from it.
The panhandler pocketed the cash and grumbled "Psssh...I don't tell you how to spend your money."
Taking the story as non political, that was one serious panhandler. However, some said it was a black panhandler and confirmation of the race of the victim has not been determined yet on this forum. We may have here a white suffering for the amusement of a black. Time will tell.
I bet he used and assault big gulp cup for the flammable liquid. We need to restrict assault cups down to 7 ounces.
Ah, let me guess, the arsonist was one of Obamaâs and Holder’s protected species? And, if the arson was against another member of the protected class, nothing will be done. Move along. In other news, CARB has ticketed the owner of the SUV for unauthorized burning.
Nothing new. New York City, black panhandlers did the same to out of town visitors. Back then gov offices would close and visitors can find a parking space in the lot. Panhandlers were camped nearby. Notice out of state plates, driver a women or Asian, would ask for 5 dollars to watch their car. If they refuse, they would find their car scratched or tires punctured when they come back. You gave them the 5 bucks or pay 15 bucks at a private parking lot. Welcome to the world of real poor people.
Poor has nothing to do with it....these are just evil people.
I don’t understand. Long Beach has a law against panhandling.
They’re bums and freeloaders.
In 1971 I went to my first game at Yankee Stadium, as a kid. This was in the bad old days of NYC. The Dad who took us boys was a well off exec with IBM, and drove a beautiful Chrysler. He showed the lot attendant a $20 (equal to $100, now), and told him “If my car is in the same condition when I get back, this is yours”. After the game, the guy was sitting on the front bumper of the car, with a billyclub at the ready. Needless to say, the Chrysler was in pristine shape.
All the right reasons to be prepared, have a fire exstiguisher or for the very few creative fabricators an on board fire suppression similar to a race car.
And to also have immediate response offensive devices such as door mounted tear gas or high voltage door handles, but above all is situational awareness.
Complacency usually is the culprit here. This guy should have immediately done a 180 and went elsewhere. I have had panhandlers approach my vehicle while at a stoplight, I then place my occupied holster up on the dash for them to see, I get the dirty eye but they always back off.
America is quickly degenerating into an immoral, conflict-filled, Tower of Babel-like dystopia. It’s likely already past the point of recovery.
Dear God!
