Newtown families: Victims turn lobbyists
Politico ^ | 4/11/2013 | MIKE ALLEN and JIM VANDEHEI

When a lobbyist for families of Newtown shooting victims called the office of Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) to set up a meeting, the first response was a standard D.C. offer. They could get a meeting with her staff, and a quick and simple “hello” from Collins herself, they were told.

The families’ answer: not good enough. According to their lobbyists, the families have a rule against staff-only meetings: They won’t do them. They insist on sitting down with the senators themselves.

[[Now I would hope our congress critters will make the right choice.]]

Good luck with htta hope- they’ve already made the wrong descision by not standign up for Americans and ‘agreeign to discuss/vote’ on the bill which is unconstitutional in the first place- their respopnse shoudl have been “This bill violates the people’s constitutional rights- as we’ve seen in NY over the past few weeks- and as we rerpresent hte people of this coutnry we will NOT vote to violate their constitutional rights- we’re not sure what the left doesn’t get abotu that statement, but there it is- You the people can depened on us to stand up for your right to possess firearms, and for us NOT to ifnringe upon that right just like the constituion tells us not to do”

Instead you have 27 traitorous senators and congressmen and women turnign o nthe peopel of htis coutnry and givign hte left even more legitimacy by ‘agreeign to discuss/vote on whther the second amendment still means what it means or not’

I’m no longer shocked, stunned, surprised, caught off guard, amazed, taken aback or any other exclamation by these radical left wing demokkkrat scumbag socialists. It’s accepted practice by these asshats. Gotta keep up the good fight regardless.

Oh of course not.
They have a voice just like the rest of us. And I am not arguing that Hussein has made their voice louder by pimping them out.

First thing for any elected leader should do is check and make sure the so-called families of victims are really who they claim to be,and not just a bunch of lobbyist posers. Why do I think the meeting would melt into a non-meeting?

I wonder if anyone had the nerve to ask them how many young children, the same age as their kids, are killed every week by their parents or caregivers. As tragic as the massacre in Newtown, CT was, every week more young kids are killed by their own parents than were killed by Adam Lanza. And rarely with guns.

In almost every case mental health issues are present.

So how come those parents from Newtown, and a bevy of politicians and media personalities haven't ever been bothered by a Newtown a week for years?

One reason - their real motivation is disarming the population, and sadly the parents from Newtown are exploiting the death of their own children to advance a political agenda.

Maybe they'll realize the problem isn't what law abiding gun owners do, but what people with mental health problems do. Addressing those issues could save thousands of young children every year.

Uh, no. We all KNOW that the problem is guns. There’s no telling when some svengali of a colt .45 will mesmerize an impressionable nut bag and create chaos never before seen. As for the kids who are aborted, shackled in closets, burned with cigs, raped, mutilated, sold on the street, “sequestered” in basements. As long as no gun was used, it’s not a problem. Pretty disgusting. Maybe king hussein should get shotgun jo jo byedumb on that one but I doubt it.

Just look at how many people get killed by drunk drivers every year, yet we never see the victims’ families lobbying Congress to ban the sale and/or possession of liquor, beer or wine. Nor do we hear calls for lower speed limits or for the banning of automobiles with powerful engines.

They are free to lobby as they wish, but anything infringing our 2nd A Rights must be through the Amendment process ONLY.
