IS IMUS CRAZY?
Imus In the Morning | self

Posted on 04/11/2013 6:21:02 PM PDT by chooseascreennamepat

I was tuning around channels the other morning and tuned into "Imus In the Morning". He had some inane/insane comments and suddenly he went on a rant. He was defending that commie bit*h who said kids should be brought up by the "collective". He also defended the word 'collective' stating it was NOT a communist word.

He called Sarah Palin a number of names, he called Rush a fat, pill popping pig plus few other nasty names. His 'sidekick' Colin McShane just sat there and agreed half heartedly (he strikes me as being terminally stupid). He ranted like a village idiot for about a minute and then sat back to meander on some other subject.

I have seen that blonde bimbo who claims to be his wife and a blonde from FOX who just sat back and cowered. It is obvious Imus was impaired. Everyone seemed embarrassed for Imus as if they had to endure this kind of tripe regularly. His wife has some of the weirdest ideas and he has a son that could use some community upbringing.

For a guy who was a poster boy for anti-drug groups, he has had to beg forgiveness from a Black Girls sports group and admits that some kids from a previous marriage hate him, he has no business judging anyone.

That was an interesting 10 minutes.

OH, he has as guests some of the most off key C&W performers I have ever heard.

The last time I saw Imus was the day when he and Bernard got canned for their “nappy headed ho’s” comment. I miss Bernard’s humor, but Imus’ - not so much.

Neil Cavuto on Fred Imus

Thanks. I didn't even know he was gone.

I once stopped by the Autobody Express store in Santa Fe to buy a T-shirt for a friend who was a serious Imus fan. After hearing so much about Autobody Express I was expecting something palatial, but it was just another little store in a standard-issue industrial park.

A dope-rotted brain.

His lame schtick seems to appeal to some urbanites, who apparently get some vicarious kick out of his ‘crochety rebel’ persona. I find him and his persona pathetic to point of embarrassment.

Isn’t he John Kerry’s grandfather? I think he’s an old senile blowhard. Maybe those seaweed and horse seamen health drinks his wife gives him are killing the few brain cells he has left.

The puzzling thing to me is that his show was supposed to be humorous; guess over the years it morphed into liberal political commentary because the last funny thing he did was a routine on Billy Soul Hargus. Come to think of it, that wasn’t funny either.
Listened in last year and was dismayed to find him coming out in support of “gay” “marriage”. That was the last minute I wasted on his show.

I don’t know why Fox Business even airs that show. Regardless of how your feel about Imus, the show is TERRIBLE! They only have something like 3 or 4 horrible guests on(ever), and they seem to have them every week or two, like they are in a sorry rotation. Imus himself seems barely coherent. When it comes down to it anymore, I think he’s just a stupid old man.

I recall toward the end of last year around the holidays, FBN was at its best for that morning time slot, because Imus wasn’t on the air, and they had on actual economic/hard news reporters doing stories and discussing the issues of the day. When he came back on the air, that’s actually when I stopped watching it completely. lol

His wife is hot, smart, and I believe, a good Conservative. Weihl is an Obama supporter (and a Lutheran-I wish she would switch). Imus is all over the board, and those on his show cowtow becuase he is a bipolar idiot many times, and the boss.

I agree.

But IMO Imus is serious about his loathing of Palin and Congresswoman Bachmann -- as well as, he does in fact strongly dislike some Republicans but he did support what's his name last year.

BTW I started listening to Limbaugh when he first went on the air with a local talk show in Sacramento. Even then he said -- and in fact it was true for me -- that it would take a couple of weeks to "get it."

Couple of points about Imus. 1. He was supposed to have terminal prostate cancer and nothing happened to him, I believe he hyped it. 2. He built and runs a posh ranch for kids with cancer which he gets to enjoy and seems to take in kids of top executives for short times so he can make connections, all built on donations.

IOW I think he’s scum.

Long before he ran for president, Romney proved to be a surprisingly quick-witted guest on Imus's show. It would not surprise me if they were friends.

Regarding Imus and politics, let's remember the glub-glub-glub sound effect that Imus always played whenever he mentioned Ted Kennedy. I'm sure it lost Imus some liberal fans.

One of Imus' favorite long-time guests is none other than Pat Buchanan.

Laura Ingraham has now come back on a regular basis, too. Something happened a while back that got her very upset with him, but they apparently mended fences.

I disagree. Aside from Connell and the hillbilly girl, the rest of his staff sucks. The two so called comedians are the biggest libtards I ever seen. And most of his guests are liberal ass-hats also. He got to be too much a lib and I had to stop watching him. Can't imagine he'll be on much longer.

"...If nothing else, it's worth noting that even though he doesn't have the best ratings in the radio business...."

Imus was at his best during the Clinton years, IMHO. He had great parodies, including General Patton addressing the troops about Janet Reno, Clinton, etc..

Bernie McGurk used to do outrageous "man on the street" interviews.

Charles McCord was his straight man, besides being one of the best newscasters in the business.

Of course, all this was before the deal with the Rutgers girls' basketball team quip....and of course, Imus fell prostrate before Al Sharpton. What a fool, he never should have done that.

He always portrayed himself as a "shock jock"....and then fell down in a puddle of political correctness. Sad....

I tend to agree that Imus is an acquired taste. But the golden age of Charles McCord, Bernard McGuirk, and Rob Bartlett & the Bartlettes is over. Tim Russert is missed & he was the only one who really stuck it to Imus (”At least I don’t look like a stuffed mummy in a cowboy museum!”). Even the late Fred Imus lent something.

There’s some retro on youtube, especially McGuirk as John Cardinal O’Connor (”Wrong, you wrinkled up old bisexual!”)

I still have on VHS some of Wilfred Brimley’s Christmas messages featuring hot Quaker Oatmeal. Priceless.

"He also defended the word 'collective' stating it was NOT a communist word."

From Webster's 1828 dictionary:

"COLLECTIVE, a.

1. Formed by gathering; gathered into a mass, sum, or body; congregated, or aggregated.

2. Deducing consequences; reasoning; inferring.

3. In grammar, expressing an number or multitude united; as a collective noun or name, which, though in the singular number itself, denotes more than one; as, company, army, troop, assembly."

We do tend to let the other side steal the language.

I have/had Prostate Cancer. I got treatment and have been ‘cancer free’ for 10 years. I heard him about 13 years ago but only got about 5-10 mins of it. I couldn’t tell if he was serious or not.

After hearing him the other day, I gess I will let him continue to babble on his own.
