Burglary suspect finds time to feed the dog
EAST WENATCHEE Residents of a house in the 600 block of Second Street Northeast were surprised to come home Saturday night and find a strange man in their kitchen.
He was standing there with the refrigerator door open and feeding their dog some pudding, said Dan Reierson, assistant chief with the East Wenatchee Police Department.
The suspect told the couple that he was looking for a man to kill, but the residents told him that person did not live there, Reierson said. The suspect sat for a brief time in a rocking chair in the living room, then walked out the front door. The suspect called to the dog, the dog followed him and they both walked away from the house.
The residents reported the incident to the RiverCom dispatch center at 8:20 p.m.
During the time the suspect was inside, the residents learned his name, Reierson said. Officers arrested the suspect at his residence, in the 6000 block of Grover Street, a short time later.
Jason L. McDaniel, 38, was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary. Reierson said he is suspected of entering the residence through a basement window, which was broken out.
The dog was not found at the suspects residence and remains missing. Buddy is a black, lab-pitbull mix with a white stripe down its chest. Anyone with information on Buddy can call the police department at 884-9511.
The guy should come try that at our house. The Shepherds would have a party, tearing him to shreads.
When find Buddy, the first thing they need to,do is change his name.
Perhaps to he same as Steve Martin’s dog in The Jerk.
That dog is not your Buddy.
Labrador retreiver + pitbull terrier= pudding-eating traitor
Reminds me of the two Great Danes in The Patriot. I doubt Buddy is coming home anytime soon unless he wants to be renamed Zeus or Apollo or Benny or Arnie.
My German shepherds would intimidate anyone who would try to rob my house but would do nothing unless my life was threatened. Most strangers will not come onto my property.
I do not believe that they should be worried about the dog. If they let that happen in their house then they are just stupid.
Doggie ping!
The nice lab genes must have won out over the pitbull.
My bulldog is spastic/psycho but the mastiff is one scary bitch.
By the time I woke up and found my pistol, they would both be burping burglar.
Leaving nothing for moi, but it’s a strange strange we live in, Master Jack.
Must be all this ‘change’ some Bozo promised. 3 Jacks and A Jill?
Man, hadn’t thought of that in years........
I guess the guy watched Hogan’s Heroes growing up.
WTF? I was going to say maybe the owners were what was worst but they seem to be easy enough to get along with. /s
Your dogs don’t like pudding? lol
I have 4 dogs, they would leave the house and go with a burglar with a sandwich in his pocket. They are very well fed and get lots of treats but it’s all about the food and a good meatloaf sandwich would come before guarding the house.
Apparently we have a substitute mail person this week.
I got a bunch of packages yesterday and when the carrier came in the yard, Odin did his usual ‘ripping out the window in rage’ act and whoever the carrier was left the packages halfway down the sidewalk instead of placed on the table on the porch.
[The table is to the left of said window, same wall]
Hope our normal mail lady comes back soon.
We were talking to some neighbors yesterday and like all our others, they were amazed that we escaped the two ‘crime sprees’ last summer.
Seriously?
A burglar would’nt even know my Jack Russell was in the house unless he accidentally came upon him while searching the house........yes he would be hiding,he’s really into self preservation.
We each have our jobs and we are good at them.
Oh dear.
