There are a lot of lousy musicians that are a lot more popular than they deserve, but in you opinion, who are the three most over rated musicians (or groups) of all time?
He is.
He teaches drums, and guitar,, has been doing that for a little over ten years.
I’ve been at it for 38 years...; )
Heh! I did the same with my son in that time frame. We had a great time.
I first saw Zappa in ‘74. Apostrophe had just been released, and Jean Luc Ponty was in the band, among others. Great, great show.
>>Even Reznor conceded that when Cash covered Hurt.
That’s a subject for another thread like this - songs where the cover is much better than the original. Typically it is the other way around.
Nice, he just loves it.
Makes a decent living, also teaches brake and line dancing.
If I had the money I’d set him up in his own studio.
He is only 31, so I am sure when he is fifty he will say....been doing this a loooog time.
Culture Club/boy George. I heard a piece of theirs on an 80’s channel a few weeks ago (hadn’t heard them in years) and was shocked at how bad they were.
Usually but Cash’s video ripped out hearts and stomped on them.
One of the best music videos ever.

Singers are musicians. Their instrument is their voice. If you are getting a music degree with voice being your primary “instrument” you are taking the same classes and have the same types of performance requirements as someone playing the guitar or the cello.
Frank Zappa
Thanks. I might have heard of him before, but had never heard his music.
Good list..... a few good tunes but not much more
Umm, no. Wrong Cameo. Good guess, though...thanks for playing.
The World's Greatest Sinner--Baby Ray & the Ferns (1963)
Great posts....do not agree w some of them....but great posts
The 3 most overrated... ever...
1. Nirvana: Proof that Gen X taste in music was awful. You play crap like that.... you’d blow your brains out, too. Grunge and 90’s rock was truly bad.
2. James Brown: Hollerin’ ain’t singing....and no artist has benefitted more from political correctness than Brown...even though his music and tunes perpetuated all the negative stereotypes of blacks. But, hey, I still liked “Living’ in America”. Stax and Motown put out better music
3. 99.8% of all Rap/HipHop. Besides not exactly being “music”....no other genre of music STOLE from other artists. Guess when your songs consist of killing cops, beating and raping “bitches and ho’s”, and masturbating w your “bling”....you kinda limit your subject matter
1. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
2. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
3. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
Any questions?
I saw Chuck live about six months ago. The guitar playing has gone down hill (he’s 86) however I was amazed at the tone of his voice. He wasn’t very loud but he was so spot on and his vocal quality was something that can’t be taught.
I have a lot of respect for Weird Al. He has outlasted almost EVERYONE whose songs he’s parodied.
