Ammo?
Where does one get amo North of the border?
Can one buy ammo in Canada and easily bring back same across the border?
Give me 230-grain FMJ any day of the week.
There is my xd
Any experts want to chime-in on how this would compare to how SS109 round fragments at 2.5 times the velocity? I know it is comparing apples to oranges, but when you have both apples and oranges at home, which one do you choose?
I’m with you.
Give me 230-grain FMJ any day of the week.
I strongly disagree. I like my 230 gr Black Talon JHP’s; not that I can re-supply. Guess I have to pick my targets carefully....
Blew a pig in half with one hit on the spine.
Just.........awesome.
I wonder if 45 + P is safe for my SR1911?
Actually a 200 grain semi-wadcutter loaded to about 1000fps is good too. The late Col. Cooper stated that as well.
Ammunition Is Getting Scarce
This morning I lucked out and was able to buy several cases of ammo. On the way home I stopped at the gas station where a drop-dead gorgeous blonde was filling up her car at the next pump.
She looked at the ammo in the back of my SUV and said in a very sexy voice, “I’m a big believer in barter, big boy”. “Would you be interested in trading sex for ammo?”
I thought a few seconds and asked, “what kinda ammo ya got?”
The more I learn about copper bullets, the more impressed I am.
Love it!
You have to go to Chicago for that.
Do you like the XDS? I was wanting to wait for the 9mm XDS. But may not weight and get the XDM Sub. I have the largest XDM 9mm, but want a good conceal weapon. I’m not sure I’ll like the narrow handle on the XDS though.
SURPEISE! You can re-supply.
Winchester re-branded the Black Talon. Now it has the innocuous name of “Ranger”. Same devastating 230gr JHP, different color. Stock number RA45T. Can you guess what the “T” stands for? I knew that you could!
ammunitiondepot.com has RA45T in stock for a little over $.80/round.
There never has been and will not be a cartridge with that designation.
For that matter, the designation ".45 ACP" was obsoleted prior to World War II and replaced with ".45 Auto". Some folks (most gun writers and almost all wantabe gun nuts) never seem to get the word.
Again, look at the headstamps stupid!
And don't waste your time and mine listing all the off-shore manufactures and some ill informed domestic gun manufactures that also are using obsolete terminology.
It is no more correct to use obsolete cartridge designations than it is to address a married woman by her maiden name.
All ammunition made by SAAMI members and other responsible manufactures carries the warning, "Use only in firearms with this designation stamped on the barrel or frame."
If you actually have a pistol marked ".45 ACP" use only ammunition with that headstamp.
Just because Caddric's have similar physical dimensions does not mean they are interchangeable, i.e. +P loadings versus non +P loadings.
“Caddric’s” should be “cartridges”
