I’m tempted to get a dog just so I have an excuse to build one of these!
There was a similar dog-ball-thrower in a recent issue of MAKE Magazine for outdoor use. Great fun.

This is gotta make it into one of those Geico “happier than” ads. Only unlike those ads, actually funny and clever.
Have you ever seen two happier creatures than that boy and the dog?

They generally suck but the Paul Revere one is actually kinda funny.
Yeah, they both look tickled.
I’d like to have one for ‘Halla since she’s become one of those OCD ball fetchers.
I don’t mind endlessly throwing her [myriad assortment of] balls for her but she always brings them back covered in spit.

I need one of these for my cat. She gets bored when the weather’s bad & she can’t go outside. So periodically she calls me out of my office to throw her balls & paper wads. At least we both get a little exercise that way.

It’s not spit, it’s Standard anti-Progressive Innoculation Treatment.
You’re depriving yourself of an anti-Progressive protective barrier when you wipe it away.

It appears the robot has no fake throw mode to keep the dog interested for very long. This may have been designed by an engineer, but the design requirements were probably done by a veteran Microsoft marketing department employee.
