Those were lives ended just as much as those killed by "gun violence..." But NO ONE wants to talk about that.
No intellectually honest person can support gun control.
What would happen if we made the same observation about the 44,038 black children killed by guns since 1979?
I seriously question the thinking skills of somebody who can write the line above and follow it up with another line about how he agrees with gun control as a concept. Color him...Clueless. He's willing to broach the subject of culture yet can't understand it as a root cause that is not addressed by trying to control an inanimate object rather than the bad people that use it to do evil.
LBJ declared War on Poverty. Barack Obama declared unconditional surrender.
Whenever sensational sounding numbers are posted about the number of “children” killed by guns, realize that the definition of a “child” can be very flexible. In most of these body counts, late teen gang bangers are included just to make the numbers more horrific. You’re thinking of 5 year-olds while the actual count is of turf warring black inner city male 16 thru 19 year-olds.
Juan, how many of those black victims of firearms were shot by whites? (crickets)
Sorry - there is a fatal flaw in his basic premise. Lynchings are rightly assigned as actions on behalf of the lynchers. “Gun violence” is assigned as action by the tools used - guns. To be the same, lynchings would have to be assigned to the rope used - when rope is used.
Anyone who talks about “gun violence” without specifically stating up front that they consider the violence to be an act carried out by an individual using a tool is emitting propaganda against a basic tool that is to be unfettered by the law.
The shooters in these “black deaths” are almost 100% black Juan, while white murderer percentages are at your idealistic European levels.
So, if you are OK with violating civil rights in order to attain a little safety, wouldn’t it make more sense to ban all black people from possessing weapons?
If that strikes you as wrong Juan, please tell us why. Wouldn’t disarmed black people be safer? How is making them safer a violation of their rights, Juan?
Gee, I wonder why?
The Justice Department reports that between 1980 and 2008, "blacks were six times more likely than whites to be homicide victims and seven times more likely than whites to commit homicide."
So six times more likely to be victoms and seven times more likely to be killers means black perp violence spills out of the black community. Which we are seeing more and more of, beyond the homicide rate. Ergo, the desire of whites to not give up their legal weapons in the face of perps who don't give a fig about the legality of the weapons they are brandishing.
Thank you Lyndon Baines Johnson, and “Great Society” for rewarding welfare mothers who kick their husbands out to the street.
The only way to get to this intellectually dishonest number is by including 18-year-old gangbangrs killing each other off, which I think can reasonably be argued as performing a public service.
I do not care if he gets anything correct. He is still a POS.
Gun control for everybody because black men shoot people far more than other people do.
Lower test standards because black people fail tests far more often than other people do.
Curfews for all teens because black teens commit crime far more often more than other teens do.
No Voter ID to ensure fair elections because black people can’t manage to get IDs like everyone else.
Investigations into disparate school suspensions numbers because black students can’t behave like other students do.
A constant reduction of rights, freedoms, and standards for everyone because black people, for some reason, disproportionately fall on the bad end of most statistics.
When President Obama tried to speak to this crippling dynamic in 2008, he was basically told to shut up by Rev. Jesse Jackson. The Chicago-based activist said: "Barack was talking down to black people," then he added a vulgar threat about what he wanted to do in response.
So much for good intentions.
