The dire implications of these numbers is evident in a Children's Defense Fund report that included a chilling historical perspective: The 44,038 black children killed by guns since 1979 (when national data on the age of gun violence victims was first collected) is "nearly 13 times more" than all the black people killed by lynching in the 86-year period of 1882 to 1968.
Almost 50 years ago, when the 1964 Civil Rights Act was passed, the national out-of-wedlock birthrate was 7%. Today it is over 40%. According to the CDC, the out-of-wedlock birthrate for white children was just 2% in the 1960s. Today it is 30%. Among black children, the out-of-wedlock birthrate has skyrocketed from 20% in the 1960s to a heartbreaking 72% today. The Hispanic out-of-wedlock rate, which has been measured for a much shorter period, was below 40% in 1990 and stands at more than 50% as of the 2010 census.
When President Obama tried to speak to this crippling dynamic in 2008, he was basically told to shut up by Rev. Jesse Jackson. The Chicago-based activist said: "Barack was talking down to black people," then he added a vulgar threat about what he wanted to do in response. The moment revealed the high cost of speaking honestly about social breakdown in black America.

Gee, I wonder why?
The Justice Department reports that between 1980 and 2008, "blacks were six times more likely than whites to be homicide victims and seven times more likely than whites to commit homicide."
So six times more likely to be victoms and seven times more likely to be killers means black perp violence spills out of the black community. Which we are seeing more and more of, beyond the homicide rate. Ergo, the desire of whites to not give up their legal weapons in the face of perps who don't give a fig about the legality of the weapons they are brandishing.
A true statement, but I take issue with the fall back issue of black-on-black crime. The truth is that the issue is primarily black-on-everyone crime. Blacks are more than 300% more likely that whites to be be violent perps, that is the issue, not the race of the victims.
The Brady Bunch counts 25 year-olds as “children,” and abusive ex-husbands shot in the act of attempted murder of their former spouses as “family members,” and the punk shot while burglarizing the next door neighbor’s home as a “friend.”
Thank you Lyndon Baines Johnson, and “Great Society” for rewarding welfare mothers who kick their husbands out to the street.
***How many black people in the in the 86-year period of 1882 to 1968 were lynched by other black people?***
According to an article I read years ago, there were 5000 lynchings in the South by the KKK.
3500 were blacks.
1500 were white Republicans.
The only way to get to this intellectually dishonest number is by including 18-year-old gangbangrs killing each other off, which I think can reasonably be argued as performing a public service.
Actually, some anti-gun groups quietly include those well into their 20s as ‘children’.
I do not care if he gets anything correct. He is still a POS.

Williams acknowledges the problem is primarily the Gangbanger culture.
The shame and silence is enforced by civil-rights leaders who speak in support of gun control but never about a dysfunctional gangster-rap culture that glorifies promiscuity, drug dealers and the power of the gun.
But at least give the guy credit for being the most well rounded turd on the Left. ;)
Gun control for everybody because black men shoot people far more than other people do.
Lower test standards because black people fail tests far more often than other people do.
Curfews for all teens because black teens commit crime far more often more than other teens do.
No Voter ID to ensure fair elections because black people can’t manage to get IDs like everyone else.
Investigations into disparate school suspensions numbers because black students can’t behave like other students do.
A constant reduction of rights, freedoms, and standards for everyone because black people, for some reason, disproportionately fall on the bad end of most statistics.

So much for good intentions.
