Up till now, Star Trek Into Darkness has promised us lots of destruction and mayhem, but this new trailer promises us something different: a Kirk who's on a tear, and a villain who's genuinely affronted by Kirk's actions.

Looks like a rip off of a bad James Bond movie, namely skyfall.

I, Claudius was on the other weekend, I was able to get it out of my mind that Derek Jacobi was gay.

Even after all of Jacobi's lisping and stammering???
by the way, Patrick Stewart (Picard) is Serjanus in that series.

Spock is not a homosexual, I do not know about Leonard Nimoy.

Ah, 'I, Claudius'. My favorite moments were those involving John Hurt's Caligula. The scene where he summons Claudius and two Senators in the middle of the night - to their deaths, they think, before Caligula leaps out in female costume and dances for the three confused, terrified men. Or the scene in Claudius' dotage when Caligula's ghost appears to tell him that to his surprise he hadn't become a god after death - "You could have knocked me over with a feather!". Hilarious.

Then you’re really not going to like the new scene with the Vulcan “butt-meld”.

Bad guy surrounds himself with red shirts? That’s not very smart.

Nah, this was in production before Skyfall came out. I’d say that both Skyfall and Into Darkness are taking a cue from the same material, Chris Nolan’s Batman trilogy.

Nimoy has been married twice.
Spouse(s)
Sandra Zober (19541987; divorced; 2 children)
Susan Bay (1988present)

It's nice to know some aspects of women's fashion haven't changed in the 23rd century.

Looks good to me.
BTW, It just hit me while I was watching that preview: Star Trek is like James Bond. We will be treated to movies every year or two for possibly many decades.
Same with Star Wars.

Spock is not a homosexual, I do not know about Leonard Nimoy. Get with the times dude! It's not Leonard Nimoy anymore...it's some guy named Zach Quinto (I think) and he is publicly gay.
To: DannyTN
Nimoy is not gay, Zachary Quinto (the new Spock) is.
Regarding the trailer, I liked it. There are plenty of Star Trek fans that think it ought to be about people sitting in conference rooms talking out their problems, and then having a drink in the lounge while they talk about their problems until finally solving their problems by invoking some magic fake technology at the last second which leads to everyone agreeing that talking is better than fighting. But not me, I grew up watching the old show in reruns in the 70s and I'll take good old fashioned space adventure over new-age pop psychology and technobabble baloney any day.
