EXCLUSIVE: Steubenville football coach may face charges for failing to report rape after he 'told two star players he'd "make it go away"'
The coach to the two footballers convicted in the Ohio rape trial may face charges for his failure to report the crime committed by his two star players.
MailOnline has learned that Head Coach Reno Saccoccia's conduct in the scandal that has overwhelmed the town of Steubenville will be scrutinized as part of a Grand Jury investigation.
State Attorney General Mike DeWine yesterday announced his intention to convene a Grand Jury on April 15 to further investigate the case that led to the convictions of quarterback Trent Mays, 17, and wide receiver Ma'lik Richmond, 16.

I agree with other posters in that one sick part of this disaster is a NINETEEN -person football staff. Are any other subjects taught in the high school.
This is more rediculous than some Texas towns.
That's Stautory Rape. Steubanville was Rape-Rape-Rape.
“Just look at the Penn State fiasco. How many guys were fired, fined, and sued for not reporting? Even the President of the University.”
Good point. It will probably even be worse, as the coach (and other adults) here are not part of a victim group (i.e., gays) as was the attacker at Penn State. That coach is toast.
“If it turns out that the coach and other adults had knowledge and didnt act on it, I hope the Ohio High School Sports Association (or whatever its called) says no football for 5 years.”
I agree. The FIRST THING to do to stop this “hero warship” is simply shut down the program for a good period of time. And if the basketball team does something similar, same punishment - although the response is more likely to be this:

Yep, they can look at the darkened stadium every Friday night and perhaps get some perspective. If they don’t, it would be great if the other teams said, “We’re not playing you, we have cheerleaders with our team and we don’t trust your players around them”.
“Statutory rape” is the first of many possible offenses being covered up in Planned Parenthood’s PRO-RAPE agenda. We are told that “parental notification” laws are “bad” because “what if her father is the one who made her pregnant?”
Still think it doesn’t include rape-rape of minors?
Girls who are raped as part of gang banger thug initiations (2 girls were raped AND murdered in a gang initiation in high profile Houston case in the 1990s) also face stigma and threats if they go public. Then there are the underaged prostitutes who work under duress. Date rape, etc.
But that isn’t “rape-rape”, right? I mean, if drugging a minor in a hot tub and committing acts of oral and anal sodomy on her unconscious body in Hollywood isn’t rape-rape, then even this footballer case doesn’t meet that standard.
The Obama administration didn’t care about the Polanski case. The Democrat war on women continues.
We didn't have this either.
