Years ago, while hunting doves on the Colorado Indian Reservation along the Colorado River in Arizona, I spotted a pack of about 15—20 Chihauhuas out on their evening hunt at sunset! The area was thick with feral Chihuahuas.....all living off the desert land full of quail, and rabbits.

Chihuahuas are the yappiest, nastiest dogs I’ve ever encountered.

1) Large and/or aggressive breed of dog? Not really.
2) Running loose? >1 running loose? Yes.
3) Prior reports of aggressive behavior? Yes.
4) Unreasonable expectation of passivity from owner, often despite #3 above? Yes.

Those four “Chihuahuas” are mixes at best. I have two of them, one pretty much a pure bred, the other looks like one, but clearly is mixed with some sort of terrier. Her teeth are two to three times bigger than the pure bred. A real Chihuahua can’t do much damage to a human. But mix in some other breeds, its a different story. In fact, my mixed Chihuahua is the only dog that has ever bitten me and drawn blood, that was when she visited us the first time, and I cornered her to pick her up, and she lashed out at my hand....

The big dogs that hang out at my yard have no problems with little dogs that come to visit, but they don’t want anything to do with Chihuahuas.
