ODD: FreeRepublic not displaying all posts? (Only 18 of 80 getting listed)

Odd observation, but it has been seen in six different threads the past few minutes:

The thread title, and the usual FreeRepublic title block will display.

But only 14 to 18 replies are displayed, and no end-of-thread links nor the usual FreeRepublic lower page links.

Same problem here. I refreshed the page and a new post appreared at the top but one or two disappeared at the bottom. Switched browsers from Explorer to Chrome: same problem.

Well, now 44 replies are displayed - on THIS page at least - but the main Free Republic page is only showing the first small group of threads.

FR is so slow to load, especially when posting replies to threads..as much as 30 seconds after I hit "POST" If they don't fix it very soon, they will kill FR...you can tell just by the number of threads posted per hour...often there would be over a hundred..now, lucky to get 30. And take a look at the most popular threads..like the Sunday Talk Show thread..a few years back you'd easily average 500+ posts to the thread..nowadays, lucky to break 100.. and I notice a lot of good people these last few months have stopped posting, or barely post at all. FR is/was a community, and it's hurting now.

Lot's of time I don't even bother to logon on..simply because it's too frustrating..I am a Luddite when it comes to this technology stuff, but a while back..when FR was down several times, lots of people commented that it's an easy fix..just move it to a different platform ( not sure if that's the right term)..but they can't/won't do that because of the proprietary software.

Something has to be done...or it will slowly die...

This is fast becoming the WORST INFRASTRUCTURED site I visit. I’ve been a strong donor but I’m giving up on that. It’s a lot of money for very little return. I love the people here but the site is so unwieldy and unthoughtful and unreliable that if it died, hopefully a better place for us all to meet again would rise.

I’m sorry I feel this way. A collection of smart conservative patriots should have a better home.

Pagination is messed up. Go to your preferences and set the to 25 threads per page.

Yeah, it's been a big story around here. Poor guy got sucked in by the sequester. That was in Florida.

I'm just hoping the beast doesn't find its way to Texas, now that Obama's released it upon the unsuspecting red states.

There is not another website that even comes close to being as great as FR.

I love Free Republic and I donate montly. This is where I hang out to get news and information. I like the layout and how the threads work much better than all the other forums I've seen.

That being said, a better mousetrap is only better if it works.
