I just refilled prescriptions for the month. It varies, some of them are as needed and I can sometimes skip a month.
If nothing changes my monthly copay is now going to average $90.00 more, at least an $1080.00 year increase.
I sure hope Fluke enjoys her free birth control!
oh, to be on medicaid or medicare and have OTHERS pay for me....
Without the meds I’d be DRT in about 24 hours.
I don’t mean this as a joke. The left thinks that if it is “right” for people to have something that all you need to do is pass a law and print more money. They are living in an economic fantasy land. Sadly, reason is beyond them. They think they are fixing health care when in fact they are destroying it.
The kids are all paying increased payroll tax, gas is up, groceries are up and income is just sitting still. It isn’t possible to build up any reserves, if something big breaks down we are screwed.
I only have a house payment and one car payment. My budget is $3,000 a month. It’s hard to come in under budget. The only thing we do is go to the grocery store and doctors’ visits. Gas prices are up. Food is up. Everything that’s delivered by a truck is up. So, it gets harder and harder to make the budget. Then a tooth ache starts. My dog has an ulcerated cornea and that’s a few hundred bucks. And truthfully, we feel like we’ve really been placed. I have no idea how people really up against it with kids are making it. And even more so, I can’t understand how some of them can still vote for obama.
In this vein, my son, who happens to work for UPS, is in the middle of contract negations and the company asked/told the union they want full and PTers pay for their health insurance. All of it. Employee portion of Health care premiums to retirees costs skyrocket.
“Sniper, do you live w/in driving distance of a Walmart? I’ve found their prices are the best/cheapest.
Dunno what kind of rapport you have w/ your doc, but I make sure I whine and snivel to him about this dilemma of costs of drugs, and he always, always, sends me home with a bag of drugs from his supply/sample closet. I have him so conditioned....I don’t have to *cry* anymore. Really.
The expensive ones, Advair and Spiriva, aren’t any cheaper at Walmart. The pharmacy I use now delivers. I’ve had to depend on that since the kids had to start traveling all over the county to work.
Here's an article about how grapefruit (and other juices) can multiply the potency of a medication.
Alternatively, you might benefit from taking the medicine sublingually. That way, the medicine is absorbed directly into the blood stream; and doesn't have to make it past the kidneys first.
Neither of these methods works for all drugs. Naturally, you should consult your physician first.
Try Sam’s Club Pharmacy, if you are a member, and ask them to quote prices without insurance.
My kid’s meds are alot cheaper because we refuse to run it through our prescription “benefit”.
I see. Check your FReepmail.
Can you get your meds mailorder? Ours are about 2/3 the price of what we’d pay at Costco.
National Health Care plan = don’t get sick.
I might be able to get them cheaper online but my insurance wouldn’t cover any of it at all.
We gotta pay for those aids patients, sex “change” operations, and abortions.
I eat a lot of citrus anyway, if they're in season I've always got a bag of oranges sitting near the computer.
My Anthem-Blue Cross coverage was dropped. It provided generic prescriptions with “0” co-pays. My new coverage has co-pays of almost $8.00 for generics and reduced hospitalization benefits.
