LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) Much like their human owners, animals have to deal with unwanted weight, too.

LOL
‘If it is,its animal abuse.’
Agreed.
Most of the cat food in the stores is loaded with corn...you can see the light come on when I ask people when was the last time they had to chase cats out of their corn patch?
Just a brief story about my favorite furry friend, Big Red. (Still miss you, big boy.) Approximately 3 years before he passed away from cancer, he developed an upper respiratory infection and lost his sense of smell partly and stopped eating. He had diabetes, so this played havoc with his blood sugar levels. We got this cleared up and out of the way. I decided when he got home, he could eat the food he wanted. It was a type of food for kittens, but he loved it. Normally, this was kept away from him due to his ever increasing weight. When he got home, he was presented with a bowl of this food. He looked up as if to say ‘Are you sure this is OK?’. I told him it was OK. As soon as I did, he planted his face in the bowl. I remember that moment to this day. What is the point in perfect weight if your furry friend/family member is miserable? Let them eat what they want, within some boundaries of reason, and let the chips fall where they may. You’ll both be happier with less stress.
Not sure what you are saying. What do your healthy, happy dogs eat?
What dog food do you feed your dogs, and what do you look for in a dog food?
Sorry about your buddy:( I have several in my past I still miss so I know what you are talking about.
I have to agree with you. There comes a time when, as long as things aren’t overboard, it’s best to let them eat what they want..or are able to.
This old guy of mine had obviously spent some time on his own. Based on his appetite when he wandered up, he was starving. Unless he starts showing a weight problem, I’m gonna feed him. Heck he’s old! I hope at some time near the end of my life someone doesn’t tell me...no, berdie, you can’t have that cookie.
