Also sad that she was willing to risk destroying her own career to further her career.

That kind of abuse by a state trooper is what, slowly but surely, erodes confidence in and respect for authority. Drunk driving is a plague and a serious offense. To charge drivers who were already proven to have absolutely no alcohol in their system with DWI is outrageous. This women should never be given that kind of authority again. The department superiors who winked at her abuse of drivers to look good and bring money into the state coffers are just as culpable. I hope the lawsuit goes forward and succeeds in a big way.

Will she still collect her lavish lifetime pension? YES. This ‘girl power crazy’ biatch should be in prison. I wonder how many dogs she’s shot.

officers are normal people. capable of lying to further careers, get revenge on people, etc.

which is why courts should no longer regard them as unimpeachable witnesses.

the sheer number of officers - feds groups, local cops, sheriffs, marshalls, etc, just inreases the number of corrupt ones that do this.

no more unimpeachable witness status by the courts for officers. hell they have cameras, they leave their mics on when talking to suspects or witnesses, they aren’t helpless.

DUI is a major life changing event. To do this to innocent people is reprehensible and unrepairable. It’s hard to imagine an appropriate penalty, but I hope someone in Utah thinks up the right answer.

The bitch needs to be in PRISON as an example to any others who might be disposed to do crap like this. GENERAL POPULATION would be good — for as long as she survives!

I can guarantee you if the Utah Highway Patrol has a union contract you will find right in the contract the way for a UHP to avoid a complaint being filed against them is to claim the person filing the complaint is intoxicated.

We are in southern Utah. Down at the Arizona border town of Fredonia there exists what used to be a fabulous bar and lounge called the Buckskin. That was where John Wayne and Ward Bond and all the guys hung out during the filming of countless western movies during the thirties and forties.

It is now virtually deserted but for a few stragglers as we don't go there anymore. Reason is that the majority of the folks that used to hang out there were from Kanab. The Utah Highway patrol and the Kanab PD have made it a practice to start picking everybody up that leaves the place the minute they cross back into Utah.

Any cop who does somethign like this should be sent to prison in general population, among those they may have arrested.

They destroyed other people lives, a death sentence is too good.

There should be jail time for this. There was real damage to people... no excuse. This is no different than running a scam.

Michael Choate sits in his vehicle Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in West Jordan, Utah. Choate, a now-retired aircraft logistics specialist at Hill Air Force Base, said he nearly lost his security clearance and job. Steed stopped him because he was wearing a Halloween costume and booked him even though three breathalyzers tests showed no alcohol in his system. Choate said he spent $3,800 and had to take four days off of work to get his DUI charged dismissed.

I don't want to sound catty, but man they could have picked a better picture than this poor guy to make the point that she was out of control. He looks like he's about to fall asleep at the next traffic light.
